As a father who's had problems with ex-wives ruining the life of the children this story is unbeatable. Big John didn't just save his sons life, the son gives it back saving Big John as well. You can't make this up; this must be THE most special relationship between a father and his son and I pray that both of them are grateful and live it up to the fullest. ❤

In the late 80s I was the host of a morning show on a big radio station in East Texas and had the good luck of being able to play in a celebrity Pro-Am tournament on one of the toughest courses in Texas. John Daly was the pro on our team, I was the celebrity. Ha ha. I had never seen a human being hit A golf ball so far in my life. I got to hang out with John for about four or five days and he was the nicest fellow you could ever ask to be around. This was the year before he won the PGA tournament.

As for John Daly (greatest raw talent ever in golf, often, if you give a man who is prone to stray from the straight and narrow, a reason to be grounded,like saving his kid, he will surprise you with his accomplishments. Haven't been following golf for a long time but stories like these really peak my interest in the game. Now I have to wonder how these two sons of legends, John Daly Jr. and Charley Woods, are stacking up against each other. It's actually rare that the sons of major golfers follow their famous dads. I'm glad to see it.

Hopefully junior will do the opposite of his father and he'll be just fine. Not sure he has the ability to make it in golf (pga level) as a player but maybe that would good to put additional distance between him & his father. At this time junior is struggling to make the U of Arkansas Golf Team's match day squad. All the best to John Daly II, he's already overcome a lot.
