Ya know usually when you can see through a npc's flesh via the camera angle, you just see through them, or maybe see some individual pieces like eyes or teeth or whatever, but I think at the point you've detailed them enough that we can literally see an NPC's ass, you've officially gone too far with the detail. Unless the game has sex scenes I guess, but this one doesn't, thank god.

Actually, I heard another reason for why they didn't add sex scenes. It's because that Gollum refused to take off the penis ring he was wearing, which he kept calling "The one ring" and "My precious" It was never made clear though whether or not he was talking about his penis or the penis ring itself. But yeah.. Originally, Gollum was the one who got the nickname "Lord Of The Rings" and now you know why..

That's the point of LotR tho, or Hobbit even. A seemingly insignificant and powerless oddball protagonist is asked to go beyond his comfort levels and experience adventure all for the epic quest of destroying evil once and for all. good guys win at the end, the protagonist grew along their journey, etc. etc. I believe it matters more what you do with the premise to make it interesting and engaging. the premise by itself isn't inherently flawed and there are countless examples in film/books of a 'useless' protagonist. it could be made into a solid experience but we all saw what happened. They cursed us. gollum gollum. Creators aren't servants to create what the consumers ask.

At this point Gollum is almost as painful to watch as it is to play, either way you want the game to work so it can end faster, but it’s almost as if the game actively fights the players AND any audience they might have; ensuring everyone has a bad time….. still glad you two covered it though :)

Honestly this game felt like dead from the concept part. I mean, imagine if you got a new Harry Potter game, but instead of Hogwarts Legacy it's the story of what happened with Peter Pettigrew between Voldemort's defeat and episode 3, and you have to play as Wormtail through the entire story.

7:40 I will say one thing in gollums faver.. he was written as a relatively dangerous character in the original book, I mean he did seem to be able to kill quite well and he had some speed and decent strength for his size! So him being decent in combat is the one thing I wouldn't be so worried about! It's been a very long time since I read the books but I'm pretty sure it talks about some of the people he killed.. I feel like gollums could have been an interesting concept and interestingly dark story if it was done well! I think the issue is I bet it was rushed as it's not exactly a game that's going to bring a huge crowd of people excited for it!
