We had to move our cargo trailer camper to a more sheltered spot in order to escape high winds. Then, a couple of days later, we went exploring and we show you what our desert finds were. One was odd, and a little sad.

Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

The UFO in this video is one of the tethered blimps along our southern border that has radar that can reach out for about 200 miles. They can let it go as high as 10,000 feet and can reel it back in with a special nylon cable.

Thanks Rick and Linda for the info/correction. 20 years ago, one of my Commercial Pilot students got a job flying C-210s on the border. I didn't know Border Patrol was flying radar blimps now, makes sense though.

Hi there 😊 Talk about finding unusual things in the desert, I was standing near a bush in the Ironwood National Monument and noticed 2 sea shells conical in shape buried in the sand but sticking out. The 2 of them were small in size but perfect in every way, not a chip not a brake. Needless to say I was astonished to find these shells in the desert! Now I know the earth was covered in water at one time so these pretty shells are probably ancient! I hope you find this amazing too!!

I think Linda was probably pretty close with her explanation of the message. ❤️ After moving to Washington state from the San Diego area in the 70’s the thing I missed the most was going down to the desert exploring. I came across lots sign like that of earlier humans but in my teens and twenties I wasn’t smart enough to question it , I was clueless. Lol Like they say, “I not only didn’t know nothing, I didn’t even suspect nothing “. We would find lot of pieces of what we knew was Indian (as we called them then) stuff like pottery and metates (mã tã tē the stones grains were ground in). I never found an arrowhead but a friend of my dad who lived out there found hundreds. It was fun to imagine the Indians being there and what it must’ve been like. I did find a trail similar to the one you found only more defined running north from the border in the Jacumba Springs (remember j’s are h’s in Cal.) area. It ran for miles and far from any roads . At many places where there was some sort of shelter , rocks or brush, where a small fire would not be seen there was signs of what the trail was used for, cans, bottles, and wrappers all with labels from Mexico. I later heard that trail running up north to the agricultural areas . There’s actually a place by there on the map called ‘Smugglers Gulch’...? In the case of the trail you found I think it was more likely a Native American travel route.

Thats what I call wide open spaces. I bet some old miner wrote that to his burro or mule that passed away and I bet he would miss that more than a woman. The early tribes used trails like you were following… I have found some as plain as day although they were 1500 years old… they ran most everywhere they went and they kicked the trails clean. Often the trails would lead to information centers ( Petroglyphs) when traveling from one area to another. The bright red blooms from from the Ocotillo it called “Indian Candy “ and they would give it to their little ones as a treat when hunting or traveling… It’s very tasty… you spread the pedals and lick the nectar inside at the center… just be sure there isn’t a yellow jacket or be inside that beat you to it…happy trails🤗🤗👍😎

A friend of our from Sheridan Mt was a government trapper for many years , and he always rode a horse. He found Many Mines , and many artifacts over the years. He rode several counties and always rode the ridges as a rule. He was riding a ridge with a large sagebrush bottom and he started noticing rocks in a row . It looked interesting so he rode as high up as he could. He finally made out a huge shape and finally found a spot where he could see it all and took a few pictures. He sent them in to have them looked at and possibly have it authenticated and it was. It turned out to be a rock outline some 50-foot-tall and 20 some feet wide .it was identified as a fertility God. This was quite evident by a large protruding line of rock in a " southerly direction 😳 true story. We all begged him to write a book on his travels and finds . Great video you guys!

Thank you Teresa! We're still down here and are kinda just living in the desert this trip. That's a first for us because we usually move every 2 or 3 days.

I enjoyed the video, in beautiful wilderness. Was hoping to see a road runner but the cactus did remind me of the old John Ford movies.

Those John Ford vistas are still looking great in Monument Valley Tribal Park in southern Utah south of Mexican Hat. The Tribal Park is a wonderful way to give something back to the wonderful Navajo People and that area is a place that should be top of any bucket list. Sorry , Rick and Linda, I don't mean to plug something on your show but I love the Navajo.

We love that area and the people there too. Its one place that Linda really blends in and feels like she's back home, they look like so many of the local people in Hawaii. At the Tribal Park, one of the women selling fry bread took back in the kitchen and taught her how to make the frybread right!

I thought the sign should say "Like & Subscribe".🤣 Not "I MISS U!" That sign was put out there 7 years ago by a nomad like yourselves after they lost their dog. You found the grave. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :)

You are SO correct on being watchfull of the washes! Caravaned down with a gf to Yuma in Oct n we hit a few GULLY WASHERS that were pretty scary in a Toy RV, my 4x4 trk was fine but MAN! some Semi's were questioning there ability to get through! :( LEARNED A LOT!

I fell once off my bike, wasn’t wearing gloves. The palm hit the pavement first, off went all the skin, destroyed my shoulder from impact. I remember the worst part is losing my skin. I never ride without gloves now. I use fingerless gym gloves. ❤

You're right, gloves are important! Head, palms and elbows are most vulnerable. I cut off the fingers of my leather gloves to suffice until I can get some mountain bikers gloves with padded palms.
