Hey Daniel, I hope you see this, because I wanted to thank you for all that you do! You always bring a smile to my face. I've been with you since about 40k subscribers and its been great to see your exponential growth, but I cannot say I'm surprised as you've only gotten better. I live alone, am currently on paid leave (feeling blessed to say that), and have been sequestered in my home for over a week now, with zero real human contact. Your channel is one of the few things keeping me sane atm! Just wanted you to know you make a difference. Btw, I'm old and been a Wheel of Time fan from the start and never gave up on Jordan even during "the slog", as many of my friends did. The end introduced me to Brandon Sanderson and Stormlight Archive, both of which I love. And finally tonight I just finished the first Mistborn trilogy (I know!). The Hero of Ages has been sitting on my nightstand for several months half finished as I've been distracted by other things. But now I wonder if it was by chance that I finished it during the current situation as it is about a dying world, and having faith. Just wanted to share and thanks again!

Rivers of London series is brilliant. I actually thought meh after the first one but I think I'd hyped it too much in my head, but I gave the next one a try and was hooked. Rebecca Kuang interviewed Ben Aaronovitch in Oxford last month. It was awesome. Both amazing authors.

The Stephen R. Donaldson books are a series of sci-fi novels by a writer who is mostly known for writing fantasy. His best known series is The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, one of the best fantasy series ever. The main character is a leper (tell me you have seen that before) and not some ultra-burly protagonist. One of the fascinating things about the series, among many, is that the battle between good and evil has just as many psychological elements to it as raw physical elements. It is also a battle of ideologies as well, although don’t think it lacks action because it does not. Another fascinating aspect is that one of the most interesting characters in the series is an entire race (sounds weird but makes sense when you read it). The sci-fi series is excellent as well, although admittedly I have only read the first two books.

The Real Story is one wild ride, definitly worth a quick read. Beautifully written, quirky plot structure, and interesting (and awfully disturbing/dark) story... By the end of it you'll feel disgusted with yourself for sympathizing with Thermopile. I left that book feeling icky, then comenced to burning through Donaldson's library of work

Oh I love Aaronovitch! Rivers of London was published as Midnight Riot and I read it last summer and enjoyed it. It’s basically Dresden files mixed with a British Police Procedural. Aaronovitch got his start writing Doctor Who on television and the Virgin New Adventures.

Eat or drink something really sweet like chocolate and then either drink squeezed lemon juice or a handful of sour sweets. The change from sweet to sour is very intense and really makes you sweat. It is also fun to repeat the process for extra intensity.

Stephen R Donaldson’s books are amazing. SciFi, not fantasy. You will love it. There is a lot more going on than you can even imagine in the first book. He’s known for his fantasy series, but he’s a great author.
