Good review, but one quibble: it's perverse to criticize Google/Android for using the universal SMS texting platform because they're may be glitches when trying to communicate with IOS's walled proprietary texting system. The problems are entirely Apple's fault (and part of the reason so many of us have abandoned iPhones).
@HellcatM2 жыл бұрын
Very true. Apple does this on purpose so Apple people will look and say "I like imessage so I won't move to Android." I have friends who have phones and they never said anything about having issues with messaging with me or any of their other friends that use Android. I've played around with friends iphones and I just find them boring, the OS is boring, the whole phone is uninspiring. Android isn't perfect, but It's the best out there right now.

IPhone to android switch videos ALWAYS bother me because these people who claim to be tech youtubers clearly don't do enough research on Android features and do a pass poor job of giving ANY credit to Android. Especially when talking about switching from imessage almost every single video like this always seems to blame Android when it's ALWAYS been apple's fault for making it so exclusive to chat using imessage. Not to mention that RCS does actually exist on Android and works for conversations between other Android users, but again Apple refuses to integrate and then blames it on Android for whatever reason to boost their own marketing. In addition to that, so many features on Android phones in these kinds of videos get described as brand new when they have been around for yearsssss. I wish "tech youtubers" would admit that they're mostly just Apple fan boys and know nothing about Android and leave it to people who actually appreciate Android to do the reviews.

@@hhhmmmmmmmm So sorry! I'm only now seeing this comment. I tried the iOS ecosystem for a year with my iPhone 12. I've always had friends who had iPhones. I also had already had an iPad for a while by the time I bought my iPhone as well. Don't get me wrong. iOS is very attractive to the eyes. The software, the hardware, it all works together. However, it's the same experience each time. For some people that's good because, that means they don't have to learn something new. However, for me, it was very boring. Apple heavily limits the user experience to only being able to perform tasks that they feel are acceptable. You can only download apps from the app store. You are limited in apps because you cannot download apps to grant you as much customization and functionality as you can with Android. Also, as far as file management goes, you can only have access to what apple wants you to have access to, as well. You cannot browse application files, or snoop into the system directory. Another big thing for me was that I sometimes love to play retro games on my phone. Because of Apple's limiting tactics, there is little to no software that you can run to emulate on iOS or iPadOS. The only reason to get an iPhone now is only because you've had one before and don't really care to switch. They are good phones and do what they are supposed to do. But there are Android phones that can do what they do and more. The Pixel 6 is one of them. Not only is the Pixel 6 a great phone, it's also great in other areas as well. The camera on this thing is spectacular (not that the iPhone's camera was poor.)! It has all the bells and whistles for taking quality high resolution pictures! The battery life in this phone is amazing. I constantly am getting 8+ hours off screen on time from a single charge a day, and that's with some heavy usage! And by the end of the day, I still have about 30-40% Barry life left. With the Pixel 6, Google introduced their new Tensor Chip, and it seems pretty powerful. It helps make Android run as smooth as possible, giving you a very pleasurable experience, much like on an iPhone. Also, Google implemented the Titan M security chip to help keep your things private and secure! When it comes to customization, whether it be a totally different home screen setup or a user interface accent color change, you can do all of this on your Pixel 6 and still maintain the utmost quality of performance. There are a plethora of apps you can take advantage of that help make the process easy! File editing on Android is as easy as anything else. You actually can gain access to pretty much any folder occupying your system storage with the help of different file managing apps. As for gaming, you are able to run emulators on your Android phone (which I do for educational purposes👀) to play those older games we grew up with. In my testing, I've been able to run GameCube games at full speed on the Pixel 6! And that's INSANE! Pixel phones are also these only Android devices who get software updates first. They also get these things called feature drops, where Google drops new features for the phones every few months or so. The screen on the Pixel 6 is outstanding. 90hz display makes the experience very smooth. If you get the Pro, you get 120hz display that is very attractive. Meanwhile the standard iPhone 13 still only has a 60hz display. To get higher refresh rate, you HAVE to go to their pro models. Also, the Pixel 6 is smarter than smart. It's heavily integrated with the Google Assistant Ai technology. You have features available to you like, automatically blocked robo calls, automatic screened calls from unknown numbers, the ability to answer or decline calls via voice command, and much more! A very useful feature only available on Pixel 6 is its standard recording app. You can actually use it to transcribe a person's speech in real time! This helps when you have a meeting at work and you want remember some of the key points discussed OR when you're in a class that you're like to have more studying material! The recording app is fantastic for these things! Another great thing about the Pixel 6 is its price point. It starts at $599 (US) for the standard Pixel 6 and $899 for the to Pixel 6 Pro. Compared to Apple's iPhones, these devices are of unbelievably great value! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to switch to Android as I do feel it is the best!

Uh how is it buggy? Just curious. Battery life for me is a concern because I'm down to 30% after like 9 hours of activity (moderate use, not 9hrs SOT) so maybe like ~4,5 hours SOT That's really the only bug. Yesterday was a bit scary as my phone was getting quite warm on simple KZbin, I use it for some gaming like twice a week of a couple hours on COD and often switch quickly between the apps. Bearing in mind this was when the phone was at around 15%. Overall: +Beautiful display +Amazing often exclusive features (though some are inconvenient switching from Galaxy S9, like screen record not having controls) +Good battery life so far, way better than Galaxy s9 Exynos +Speakers are great especially for gaming +It's Google, so Google assistant and other features like speech->text works wonders. +The fucking camera 😩 -Battery life seems to vary but maybe I'm trippin -minor heat issues -double tap to screenshot is very scary especially on Snapchat, they should've just kept power and volume on seperate sides -^ Power and volume really piss me off. It's my biggest flaw with this phone. The power is too high up and *I* prefer the power lower down like S21 ultra. Even better if they're on different sides.

Pixel More so than others in my experience. When these large KZbinrs use a week worth of these phones to review , which honestly I cannot believe they use nothing but these new releases since they have so many to review, the battery life comparisons are soooo subjective .....The reason I bring this up is because many older people care more about battery than spec sheet. Airdrop is kind of available on the Google pixel though. :) I just switched back to android after 4 years with a Iphone (had Huawei before it was "cool" and before the sanctions due to the excellent b/w photos it could take, a p 10 :) ) and didn't know about the android airdrop option, but you can enable it under settings and just start sending to people nearby!

I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to an s21 plus and yes pictures plus videos are blurry sending to ios users. Honestly if you're willing to try something new the pixel 6 is a great deal. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who plays a lot of mobile games though.

An app like WhatsApp or Signal will send photos and videos on high resolution. The issue is if you’re American and convincing your friends and family to download that as well.

Love your wallpaper. Where did get it from? Can you maybe post a download link?

Samsung actually has a cool feature called Samsung link sharing where u can send pictures and videos in high definition quality.

It's kinda apple's fault not using RCS messaging. If they did then everyone will be able to do stuff like message reactions and sending photos and videos without a massive quality drop

I like the camera bar aesthetic vs the hideous, asymmetrical wart that Apple started and so many other phone makers have mindlessly copied. Don't even get me started on the notch. I have an international 256gb dual SIM Oneplus 6T and an iPhone 12 Mini, I'm really considering a 256GB P6 as a replacement to the Mini. I want to see more reviews of the durability first.

I just use a phone and this looks pretty good. I buy one and use it as long as possible. Alot of squabble over phones I don't get it. I like a sprig of a money tree you all have to go from one to another phone.

Whenever you can, you can also consider making a video on Google Pixel 6 Pro please. 🙏 The price of both model are coming down to make Pro affordable.

Why don't you cover Android's version of airdrop?
@ProperTechPodcast2 жыл бұрын
Nearby Share is good, but a bit more limited because we use Macs for work and most of our friends have iPhones. You're right in that it's worth mentioning though, and is a good idea for a future video covering the functionalities between platforms. Thank you for the comment and idea!

@@ProperTechPodcast Right so the issue is most folks use Iphone so not fair to make it seem like the Pixel is the problem. If most of the folks in your circle are Android then the messaging, sharing, would be similar (Not as polished as Apple) but similar. I feel google drive is a great solution also for continuity across all devices for managing files, device backups, etc. However, in today's world where Iphones just own the market idrop and imessage is hard to move away from.
