I'm a photography nut so I'd go for the Pro. But for family members who have more ordinary use cases I recommend the 7 (if they care about wireless charging), or the 6a. In all cases I recommend waiting until a few months before the next generation is released, and watching for sales. Google likes to purge stock before the new generation comes out, and you see crazy markdowns from the Google store and other vendors, esp if you use the Fi carrier. That's all as long as you don't mind last year's model of course.

The ultrawide is important for me so it'd have to be the Pro. I've never had a Pixel but am very tempted to go for it given what Google will pay for my 2 year old iPhone 12 Pro, which would make this phone cost under £300 - an offer so good I'm not sure I can refuse it! Been waiting for your review. Great as always. I went with the 7 as an upgrade from the 4a. The higher refresh rate and extra cameras weren't worth the extra $300 to me. Pixel's call screening remains the best feature and my wife says she wishes it was on her iphone. And I can't wait for the Recorder App update.

@@sergeywain1703 here's the thing. I'm never more than a few feet away from a charger in my entire day. I don't really get battery anxiety. I would say if you can't charge your phone throughout the day then get a phone that will allow you better battery life. I just can't go back to iPhone. I hate their software so much. For what the pixel offers in terms of a software experience, there is no better phone in my opinion.

Idk why but there’s like a blur in some of the video …. I just watched a s22+ vlog test and it’s crisp and does not blur in movement . Watching in 4k on iPhone 14 but switching back to android…..

Great work as always my man. Maybe it doesn't get said enough but the fact that the standard Pixel 7 is missing the telephoto and didn't upgrade the ultrawide at least like the 7 Pro is inexcusable! At the very least the 7 should have the same ultrawide as the Pro model. It's little things like that that Google is limiting their own selves in.

Wow lens flare is horrendous and overall video in low light is horrible on the Pixel what happened! The purple flare around the lights is very off putting. I have the 7pro also. Seriously thinking about sending it back. This is from a guy who upgraded from the pixel 3.

i have the 7 pro traded in my s22 ultra and im loving this thing. Dont forget updates. I think over time the lens flair will be addressed if its a software issue. Either way im loving thing so smooth and way better camera then s22 ultra. The s22 cameras indoor shots are dog shit.

The additional camera extras and increased refresh rate are things I am okay without. For $599 and some received trade in $$ I feel it is very well worth it. If I have a phone which has 18W charging is it okay if I use a 45W charger? Does the charger with 20W for the phone with 25W charging damage the battery? Great video! In my opinion, I absolutely think the PIxel 7 Pro is priced appropriately. If you want a real analysis of what is a good price for the Pixel 7 Pro, you have to compare the differences between the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. What "extras" do you get with the Pixel 7 Pro and how much do these items cost Google to add them to the phone. I've done some research into the pricing of what we consumers would pay for "replacement parts" for these items, but I'm not claiming Google actually pays these amounts. However there is more to manufacturing costs than just the parts. 1) Pixel 7 has 6.3 inch OLED Full HD (1080p) screen. Pixel 7 Pro has a bigger 6.7 inch Quad HD+ (1440p) POLED screen with brighter nits. Online pricing difference is about $80 more for Pixel 7 Pro type screen. 2) Pixel 7 has 8 GB RAM while Pixel 7 Pro has 12 GB RAM. Current online pricing for RAM is about $25 per GB. 4 GBs RAM more on Pixel 7 Pro would cost estimated $100 more. 3) Pixel 7 has 4,355 mAh battery while Pixel 7 Pro has 5,000 mAh battery. While prices vary online, the "average" price difference online is about $80 more for 5,000 mAh battery. 4) Pixel 7 does not have a telephoto lens. Pixel 7 Pro has 5X 48MP telephoto lens. Online pricing for this lens part is about $120. Also Pixel 7 Pro has upgraded wide-angle lens. Not sure of price difference for that. 5) As a side thought, Pixel 7 Pro is a bigger size phone which requires additional glass and aluminum than the Pixel 7, so let's just add $20 to this cost to manufacture (probably more, but...) Now, lets add up all the difference in pricing...= $400. But, let's say Google receives some discounts and we lower the cost of all of the items to just $280. However, we have to consider that there is still profit (for shareholders), salaries and fees for manufacturers and expenses for advertising the phone that need to be tacked on. So, when you view the comparison now, you should COMPLETELY understand the $300 difference in pricing. You should also begin to see the "value" of the "extras" you get with the Pixel 7 Pro, which is why I purchased the Pro model myself.

I had the 6 Pro last year, I’d upgraded from the 12 Pro Max, the camera on the 6 Pro was very good, but as a phone it was just too buggy after the May update. It put me off Pixels, and I’ve upgraded to the 14 Pro Max this year. The camera on the 14 Pro Max is outstanding on the raw images once edited, far better than the 6 Pro, I feel I’ve made the right decision and I have a reliable phone that just works as it should now! I just switched from using iphone for about 4 out of the last 5 years to the Google pixel 7 pro and I couldn't be happier. The only thing that was nice about having iPhone was iMessage because everyone I text has an iPhone. But it's always nice to switch it up sometimes especially since iphones don't change much.
