Google Pixel 7 Pro VS Vivo X80 Pro Camera Comparison (Photography)

One of the closest comparisons I've done in a while, for good reason...

A tip for portrait photography on Pixel: Shoot without Portrait Mode - just regular 1-2x photos and then hit the edit button and add the blur manually. 1. You get to choose how much blur you want and 2. You avoid the bizarre sharpening from the Portrait Mode (Google is trolling us). Also, pro tip: If you have enough room to step back, take portraits with the zoom camera - it has great natural compression and you can always add more blur the same way as described above. Works amazingly on the Pixel 6 Pro.

Agreed but these are again workarounds. Imagine someone taking lot of portraits and need to do this step everytime again n again. Also, not to mention Google does not show bokeh effect while taking photos, and you have to wait 4-5 seconds for processing to finish…

@@thetechphenomena couple of points to mention about pixel for next comparison, it does have option to take both raw and jpeg photos. Also the main sensor is not technically 50mp. I think it’s permanently binned to 12.5mp, so you can’t really take 50mp photos.

If you turn the night into day in a night time photos you have made my day. That's the benefit of night photos, seeing through the dark places but people think it should look like night photos by making some places dark, I don't understand that

It's normal that people prefer capture as much as posible about the moment when you take the picture to retain all the moment nuances. Turning night into day would ruin all that memories.

Another great video my guy. You seem to be one of the few KZbinrs that don't come of as a marketing tool for the big corporations. Which phone out there would you suggest is the best for portrait shots you can get now?

I think the X80 pro is probably the best for my tastes... But the iPhone 14 pro is also really good n consistent for portraits... Problem with the iPhone is that it has terrible HDR...

The X80 Pro seems to have the more natural image processing, avoiding artefacts and loss of detail. Things like contrast, saturation, vibrance etc. can easily be done in post-processing. It seems to be a thing these days that phones have very rigorous out-of-the-camera post-processing, not always in a good way. Coming from the fantastic P30 Pro I'm quite annoyed with my iPhone 14 Pro because of that. Might switch to something from Vivo or Xiaomi in the near future.

Natural colors,Potrait shots,Low light shots the King just crushes the Pixel to pulp....the Amaricana tech youtuber community and to an extent the Indian youtuber community has blown the Apple and Pixel cameras way out of proportion...

For me i see that the x80 was far superior in terms of night mode... The pixels has too much contrast and oversharpening that it looks like a regular mobile photo whereas the x80 resembles the Dslr

@@Kesariya_Vilayati Not really - the launch time difference between India and China is very less in the case of Vivo - just like 1 month. As India is the major market for Vivo after China. Rest come a distant third. So, if X90 launches in China in Dec, expect India launch in Jan.

Great review thank you, I tested both phones and also leaning more towards Vivo x80 pro. If you try taking indoor photos of people with Pixel 7 it can sometimes really intensify the shadows/processing which I don't like.

In my experience.. the battery is pretty good... 6-6.5 hrs screen on time with medium to heavy use... N i personally like the software and customisability a lot... No bugs when I used it

Vivo x80 pro photos looks more natural. Pixel on the other hand looks to be oversaturating and oversharpening most of the time. For me the clear winner is x80 pro. I know there are ways to edit the image in pixel and make it look more better. But this is not feasible when we take a lot of photos. And doing this each time on every single photo is a hectic task. 5x and 10x zoom photos are better in pixel than x80 pro. But again we don't take zoomed in shots everytime.

@@thetechphenomena Yes , I did and I heard all the time telling how contrasty and oversharped the pixel is and you like that and call the x80 flat all the time ... The amount of details on the x80 are huge for a camera on a phone , is true that the front facing camera isn't that good but most of the time people use the main camera witch is clearly crashing the pixel

The pixel isn't oversharpened all the time...sometimes it does go too far... And I called it out when it did... Having high mid-tone detail and contrast is a characteristic dependant on personal preference and neither you nor i can say one is definitively better than the other... I mentioned at the end that just coz I liked higher contrast doesn't mean others will too... Especially for nightmode

And the X80 doesn't have good detail preservation... It's the one downside on the X80 pro... Even with high res it doesn't produce 48mp worth of detail...

nope, not even close what it comes to main sensor photos. the noise and the oversharpening is disgusting imo. The GNV on the Vivo is decimating this sensor. And to be honest its decimating any other sensor on the market. I have no clue why Samsung didnt use that on the S22U.... Pixel is only saved by the HDR processing and the higher contrast. Also the X80 portrait mode is untouchable as well, i like it even better then the 14 Pro portrait mode. Simulation of Zeiss lenses is amazing... Also the lens flare on the Pixel are so bad...

I like x80 pro and how it preserved details instead of oversharpening images etc. Further this year's X90 Pro plus will probably decimate pixel's camera. You don't probably know about the SuperRAW mode of Vivo superflagships - just search that. Having said that - which is a better phone, it is definitely Pixel because it is just so much more than only the camera while Vivo x90 pro plus even with all the big sensors and camera won't be the phone that becomes your day to day personal assistant.
