Goratha I just want to say thank you for the hard work you put in for the guide and how much fun I had and still playing this build. Campaign I flew by with no problems but not going lie, early maps was a struggle because I couldn’t find the right color links or 6 link. But I grinded it out and so glad I did. Once I started upgraded piece by piece this build popped off. It just keeps getting better. Thank you again brotha!

I want to follow up this comment to say this is easiest the most fun , fast and powerful build i played so far. Initially i was playing Ball Lightning from Palsteron and it was a blast but i think that build caps really hard in terms of defensives and i was struggle once i got into t16 maps and on bosses. I decided to give a go with this build and oh MAN. this is brilliant, fast and so enjoyable to play. I also do prefer the " 2 button " playstyle, since its more active and less boring ( and apparently stronger ) . Thanks a lot for your work on this one and looking forward to more updates , min-max on the build !

Dude i had such a blast playing this! Was my first time playing through the whole game on hardcore - Died to searing exarch because i straight up suck at ball phase. Was my bad. Now i dont know if i should level another build. But this was a lot of fun!! Even made it to 93

Frostblink of wintery blast is great with archmage for zooming through the map (It's basically caster flicker strike though, so be warned with your motion sickness). If you use kitava's thirst, you can do some desecrate/DD fun for bonus single target damage as you just zoom

This is my first time not playing a totem or minion build. This by far feels amazing. I'm not as quick with the clearing as you, but dropping the frostbolt and running with it as it nukes everything is great/super fun. Going to try a t17 later

Even tho i'm not playing this build, i might give it a try in the future. I'm planning on keeping ball lightning cause i actually enjoy the playstyle, but one of the things i tried on that build, was actually playing with Frost Shield , since i was too squishy for my taste , and the skill is awesome. Dont even know if makes sense or not in that build, but i do have the space for it on the quad curse setup and i feel it helps me a lot in huge AOE packs and Single Target.

Really fun build but I am in a weird situation where I am really tanky but my damage seems to be lacking. Pob shows full dps as like 1m ish.

Hi, I will be aiming for a similar build as yours this league, so I theorycrafted one thing and I wonder what you think about it. What if instead of second weapon you went for Prism Guardian with Clarity, Petrified Blood and either Tempest Shield or Herald of Ice? It should reserve just above 50% life, so pain attunement would give back some of the damage lost from giving up the weapon. Petrified blood should make you more durable when you consider you that you'll need to reserve clarity anyway, you also gain some block and possibly spell block. It could also make Ivory Tower a good option, but I haven't theorycrafted that yet

I'm doing fine at level 85 w/ a 5L, 50 Suppress/Lucky. Main thing for me is just using atlas trees to collect essences & expedition re-rolls for gear at 90 and then hopefully being able to spec into Extreme Archeology. Just got 2nd atlas at 50/115. Only thing I'm really noticing is stun/ailment struggles. SteelMage ha a similar version that I may draw some inspiration from.

Sorry if this is obvious, but I was looking at the pob and see that ice nova of frostbolts had 8 counts for the dps calculation. According to the tooltip the skill can only expand from 4 frostbolts, so shouldn't the count be 4 not 8?

Don't think that's too relevant, the skill level only scales the less damage from 70% less damage to 61% less damage at level 20. Just scale it however high your dexterity allows, though 111 isn't too high as well.

@Daniel-zy1ir I think I was mostly wondering because the balls fly so far before coming back now at level 20. Wasn't sure if I was supposed to stop it sometime sooner for a better sweet spot for damage between then going out and coming back.

He's not playing this version on his profile anymore, but as far as i know the reason for that is cause he was trying a Cast when damage taken setup with Enfeeble to proc the damage reduction when he gets hit as a passive thing , while manually casting Punishment for rares or bosses to take advantage of the damage part.

So question, is frost blink procing/castinf the frostbolts as well? Trying to understand exactly how the bolts seem to be so perfectly syncing with the blink in the footage. Are brands maybe being automated somehow?

I've been playing around with it a bit and I have to agree so far it's really nice! I can cover the screen even more, making it even harder to see. Which for some reason is a plus to me...I'll never know why.

its 23% less damage taken when you stand in it - so basically any mechanic like breach, expedition, delve, abyss, bosses, literally anything you stand still for more than a few seconds

In my experience you still swap it in sanctum/bosses since it’s a lot more dps and you can just focus on holding down ice nova while dodging mechanics

Its weird seeing an archmage build without the mana dropping all the time. I loved playing archmage, but catch me at the wrong moment, arcane cloak drops/I am casting, and I'm toast with just 5k life before reductions, so like 25k pool. Catch me at the right moment, and you've got a 13k actual pool of life before reductions and arcane cloak, so something like 100k pool. I don't even know what it would be like to not be obsessed with crafting mana regen on literally everything.

sure, but Goratha rly puts emphasis on survivability, but u can always swap for a pledge and melt stuff before they kill you

Hey, can you explain how to increase the survivability of this build? I'm not sure I fully understand what I'm doing here. Why does it seem like life isn't that important, and instead you stack mana regeneration? I don't feel like I have issues with mana regeneration Sorry I feel like a noob. Followed all 3 of your videos and think I may be missing something important here. Early red maps are randomly really deadly to me. Also -- I'm using the build right now with automated brand recall and it gets a ton of frostbolts out. Does each frostbolt give way more DPS because of the AOE? Would it be worth putting points into reducing brand recall cooldown by 50% & increasing brands by 2? That would be a lot more frostbolts on the screen at one time?

mana is important because more mana = bigger arcane cloak and we take 50% of damage from mana before life with MoM+ hiero node (and 60% if you get watcher's eye) also i tested brand node stuff and didn't seem worth it but you could try it out for yourself

hey man, 2nd time playing your build, I'm obliterating everything in my sight with this build. Can I ask why we don't run trinity over lightning pen? I thought penetration not synergized well enough with elemental mastery (hit inverted resist)?

pen works really well with invert actually, it's not reducing the monster res, it's ignoring it - trinity doesn't work because we deal too much lightning damage
