That photo of Lawmoor St is incredible. I live on that corner currently. What a change even more so, when that is before the Queen Elizabeth high rise buildings were there .

I was born in Surrey lane in 1949 remember the single end we stayed in a long dark hall with rooms on either side, and big families all packed into one room,one toilet at the end of the hallway shared by everyone,overrun with rats I would never use toilet had my own Poe as they called it,I also went to St johns primary we left in 1956 and went to a flat with an inside toilet and 3bedrooms we thought it was luxury compared to where we lived,but looking back now although we played in slums we where happy using our own imagination to entertain ourselves I've never forgot where I came from.

The swing area at 2.08+ was in Thistle St, the photo taken from where the Post Office was in the 60s--at least so my memory goes !!

After my gran died we found out that she was born in the gorbals she never told any of us not my mum or any buddy in the family NOW that's so sad not want to tell us I grow up in partck Glasgow xx
