I found this: JACK'S WATERFRONT UPDATE - WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? Although the performance of Jack’s water-front improved after they adopted the practices of Chef Gordon, it was closed in December 2010 and later opened as Dockside Jack’s in March 2011. However, it was permanently closed after a month and the three owners sold it back to the previous owners. As of 2022, a restaurant called Brownies on the Lake is operating in the previous Jack’s Waterfront location. They have returned back after 14 years and are operated by Andiamo Restaurant Group. However, reviews for Brownies on the Lake don’t seem that positive as it has just a 2.5 star rating on its Yelp page. Despite the low rating, Brownies on the Lake does seem to be successful for now.

Wow this is the first time I see Gordon go into a restaurant get things straight and in order and not have nobody fuss at him or argue with him the whole time. These guys were really really great at taking criticism and allowing Gordon to straighten everything out. And I'm glad they were able to come together and and fix their problem in the restaurant. Yes it hurt my feelings that tammer had to fire his father AJ . I don't know how old the gentleman is but if he's mid-60s to '70s he don't need to be doing that anymore he don't need that kind of stress and I'm pretty sure he understands that. My son fusses at me all the time when I do stuff where I stress myself out. And I love him just as much for it. Awesome show.

That must have been so frustrating for Aaron. Those line cooks were by and large useless leeches who were quite happy doing fuck all and taking the paychecks. Glad he was given the power to clean house and they are succeeding. This episode was a good example of awkward situations (AJ might have been at the venue for 80 hours a week, but there is no way he was "at work". Also, did I hear correctly that they were paying him $100K? WTF?!) when family and business isn't quite working, as well as when the management hierarchy is blurry. They were always going to do well when they all were in agreement that they needed some change and didn't get their backs up when Ramsay told them what was shite. All the best to them.

I went and followed up to see how these guys are going and unfortunately the restaurant did shut down which is just so sad, I was really rooting for these guys to make it and Aaron too. Everyone of those "chef's" should have been ashamed of their behaviour, to not even answer your head chef is beyond disrespectful but to try and humiliate him in front of a famous chef is disgusting, and let's be honest that I exactly what they were trying to do only luckily it backfired. I sincerely hope that Aaron was able to find other employment and a head chef level and I thriving now. AJ was a god damn disgrace, $100,000 a year salary AND drinking all the alcohol, 40 years in the hospitality industry my arse, he couldn't organise a root in a brothel with a fist full of fifties. I really hope all 3 owners didn't end up bankrupt from the closing of Jack's and have gone on to better things, they all seemed like really lovely decent hard working human beings.

When will people learn that just because someone has done something for a long time doesn't mean they ever did it right. Experience does not automatically equal expertise. Edit: I'm 49 and I do not think I know everything. There's always more to learn. I'm willing to learn from anyone that has something to teach, younger or older than me. Those fish will die in days, if not minutes from no water changes, swimming in their own waste, no food, it's just torture for the fish! If you want to get fish for the restaurant to make the kids happy, then do it right! No kid wants to see them rotting in the walls.

I sincerely hate Bill, because he is in no way a teamplayer with the other owners. I told on cam, that it is his staff, his money, his guests, etc... NO it is not! It is "our" restaurant, "our" staff, "our" guests and most of the money is provided by Scott! The audacity! He seriously wanted to see him go under, the evening he was a waiter, that wasn't only a joke of friends... Scott really cares about the restaurant, the team and is kind hearted. He is somewhat intimitating and stared at GR, but he didn't know what else to do in that situation when GR tasted the food, because he wasn't allowed to do anything, because the other two made him a silent partner... It's a very good episode, but the other owners really grind my gears ngl.

For people talking about the fish on the walls, you are probably right. Its not a great idea if its not done correctly. Having a little experience with this and realizing that gordon and the show run a production with this, theres a few things to consider. 1. They are bettas. They do not REQUIRE highly oxygenated water with a bubbler. Bubblers are actually not quite as effective as they would seem and most aquarists typically think of smaller bubbler set ups in tanks as decorative rather than functional. The time that the air in the bubble is in contact with the water is pretty short. Not a lot of time to transfer gas content back and forth. The surface area to volume of the water would be what i would be really focused on for fish other than bettas. Bettas are well known for living in small volumes of poor water in the wild. This is not to say that its ok to toss them in whatever condition you want and say its good. But bettas have what is called a labyrinth organ that allows them to breathe air directly from rhe surface. They will be able to breathe. There are other issues i will mentiona as to why this is not a great setup for them later. 2. Water quality. Well if it was just the bettas on the wall, i would be pretty concerned, but again these are bettas, and they are prettt tolerant of marginal waters. There is also a large multi fish display aquarium in the front that is pretty likely to have a contract with a local aquarium shop to come in weekly and service. The betta tanks would likely get service then too. It doesnt take much. The aquarium crew would need a few hours once a week in the morning to come in and clean the display tank and do a partial water change on all the betta tanks. They could easily bring pretreated water with them in a van. Lets say there were 20 2 gal betta tanks, they need 20 gals of water, something easily done with 4 5 gal bottles and a siphon and hand pump. A full change once a month. As long as the front of house doesnt over feed them the water wont foul much in that time. What isnt great for them though is simply being in the restraunt. Its loud with lots of concussions and irregular light and stimulus. I wouldn't have set it up that way.
