Gorilla Girl Got Separated From Her Family For a While | The Shabani Group

Before breakfast, gorillas were so relaxed except for Annie.
Annie was restless going up and down between the basement and the ground floor.
Breakfast for gorillas were already ready outside, but Annie did not want to go back to her family in the basement.
All the doors to the basement were closed and she could not get back into the basement.
Then the door to the outside opened and only Annie went outside.
Annie was anxious because the other gorillas did not come out through the usual door.
She was anxiously running around the grounds.
She was squealing loudly and hooting anxiously.
She must have been very anxious that Shabani, the silverback gorilla, was not there.
After a while, the other gorillas came out through the usual door and Annie was able to join her family.
She was relieved to find Shabani and began to eat.
But she soon went back inside.
Shabani saw her and followed her back inside.
Elderly female Nene went back inside with her.
A short time later, the whole family came outside and it was back to a normal morning.
Perhaps the keeper wanted to let Annie out first so that she could eat her breakfast.
Annie was alone for only about five minutes, but she could not bear to be without her father Shabani.
This event clearly shows the importance of the silverback gorilla in the group and the bond between father Shabani and daughter Annie.
Shabani is a book and a compass for Annie.
Her mother Ai and grandmother Nene were also very concerned about Annie.
But only Kiyomasa was eating breakfast at his own pace without worrying about Annie.

Nene was born wild in Cameroon.
The other three were born in the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan.

This makes me concerned about them eventually relocating Annie. I hate that she screamed. I know she loves her family but I never thought I'd see her frantic like that without them. Hopefully she's okay. ❤ (On a more lighter note - 2:21 😂 I'm SO happy that was caught on camera.)

Shabani started living alone for 2-3 years before he was sent to Japan (around 9 years old). I'm not sure if he was living with Haoko because the he was also sent to Japan, but he surely wasn't with his family anymore. I guess it takes some time to move a gorilla, Momotaro had the advantage that he was living alone since he was 6 before going to live with Genki.

I don't understand why I read so often here or elsewhere that they want to see Annie with Gentaro and Kiyo should go to another group, Ai is not good for Shabani and blah blah blah. This gorilla group is something very special, nowhere else did we see such emotional behavior as in the Shabani group. If Kyo leaves, Nene won't survive. If Annie leaves, Shabani and Mama Ai probably won't be able to handle it either. They are such a tight bond that is very rare. If they separate them, the whole family will fall apart. For us humans it seems normal to leave the house when we grow up, but we see each other, but these animals would never see each other again, that's cruel. They can never visit each other, never again. They are better Humans than we are.

You can't just leave the young ones there. Kyomasa has already mated with his mother and tried to mate with ai and annie. Sooner or later shabani will start to mate with annie also. Not to mention that shabani and kyomasa will begin to fight violently. Plus shabani is young enough to have more babies, but he can't do that with them here. Kyomasa and annie will have to go. And it's not cruel, if they were in the wild they would have already left the group by now. Most females leave their family group around age 9, and males leave anywhere from 10 to 13 years old. You can't let human emotions get in the way of what comes naturally. These young gorillas deserve to have a life of their own also. And they can't do that if we leave them in this family group.

In my humble opinion for what it’s worth 🤓🤓🤓 Shabani has that Father’s love and protection not just for Annie but the whole troop!! In other words he reminds me of a great dad that will always be right there for their children. He will be the first one to take up for his children and if you would call him and tell him, hey dad, I accidentally bumped somebody off he’d be like don’t worry about it. I know a perfect spot to hide the body 😂😂😂😂 I love Shabani 💕💕💕💕💕

Oh Annie spoiled bby girl 😂 I know it was a bit stressful but you lowkey caused this to happen . I think this was good to had happened because maybe she’ll follow and stay with the group when the keepers need her to and not play the little games she do when everyone goes down and she rushes back up before the door closes 😅 I always find it cute that she likes to play but maybe the keepers not so much . I will be again called names , blah blah but sometimes people extreme fans of Momotoro’s troop just think about them etc etc . Seeing this video of a very distressed young gorilla what they just think is that Annie whole purpose is to be Gentaro wife. Doesn’t matter if she couldn’t survive mentally be separated from Shabani as Shabani to her significant her whole security, her whole sense of herself since she was born and raised by him, protect by him etc. i know they separate them to form another families but sometimes this aren’t called for depending of the situation, the gorilla makeup, they only special circumstances etc, etc. and Annie is one of those cases like Genki was when she was sent to the Ueno Zoo. And by the way Gentaro is my favorite gorilla from that troop and he looks sad most the time and i just wish him the best , more happiness but not sacrificed Annie life for him.

Bro, if Annie stays here for much longer, she'll become Shabani's wife. I don't think she's right for Gentaro, and anyway, it makes little sense to put them together and make every gorilla in Japan related to every other gorilla in Japan, new blood is needed. Nevertheless, she needs an adult home

Yes I’m wondering why they separate her even for a short while. I worry about Shabani without his children. There are incredibly powerful attachments there! Hard to watch his sweet daughter panicking and hooting for her family and ignoring the food all around her. ♥️🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍♥️

Yeah, it almost seems that now it will be impossible to break up this family. They have been together for so long that it could have dire consequences to.move one or more of them. However, Kiyomasa may still have a chance if he starts instinctively distancing himself from the rest of the family…my opinion. 😊

The move to a new family would be gradual, they wouldn't pull her out and suddenly she's with a new group It takes months and sometimes years until the move becomes permanent Pulling a gorilla out overnight would likely kill him/her. It's a very slow process and requires planning and patience
