The swelling in Genki’s face does not look to be improving. That has to be so painful for her and she doesn’t have anyway of communicating that.😢

Maybe the vet needs to open and drain and desinfect the abscess... Soon or later it must be done... I don't see really another solution to this problem.

痛みという痛みはないかもしれないですがこのまま腫れが酷くならなければ良いですがこれ以上悪化するようなら人間感覚で言えばゲンキ本人が鬱陶しいように感じると思います 現時点で瞼辺りまで影響及ぼしていて左目の視界の悪さは感じてるんじゃないかと思われます まぁ獣医さんの判断に任せるのみですね！

Clearly she's very uncomfortable and her eye appears to be swelling closed. Aspiration, disinfectant Rx and pathogen analysis are important. It's quite a procedure but necessary.

Putting a gorilla under anesthesia is very risky! Some die, so you are one of those people that say this but if she dies on the table then what will you say? Pulling out her teeth is also risky and may shorten her life as well. Genki is 37 years old and may have a decade left but with no teeth it may break her will yo live. These vets are doing the best they can in a bad situation. Genki has had these a cesses before and got better. Hopefully being more proactive is the key because an infection going to heart is not good either but she has not been listless.

Though it would be advantageous to lance Genki’s abscess to directly address it through mini surgery which would be straightforward. It is the aftercare of the wound and the tremendous problems of the natural unsanitary environmental conditions in any gorilla enclosure and the tendency for any animal being to irritate and open such a wound could/would exacerbate the condition and cause the infection to spread completely out of control. Options are very limited. It is a very difficult situation for this old practically toothless and loved gorilla.

Yes, your one of the few that actually understands. Also Henki had a brother that did not survive adulthood. Perhaps heart condition. We only get snippets of their entire day. I am sure the vet medical team is on it.

@@m.c.5744 no thankyou. It is just a sad and difficult situation, we all want the best for Genki. This zoo has been through some tradgedies with Genki's mother, little brother and father. I have faith they are doing the best they can in a bad situation. Imagine Genki with no teeth? Will that stop her from not eatting, the same things, she would choke? Didnt Monotaros father choke and he had all his teeth and was younger. I have seen hunan seniors have their entire teeth pulled out and they die shortly after. Will and quality of life.

@@stevemorris6790Nene is a lot older! Genki still moves very well and Nene has clearly slowed down. Genki was fed human foods with sugar. Genki has a lot of years ahead of her god willing.

Unfortunate for Genki, she is a gorilla of two worlds. Please don’t blame the zoo or the keepers for failures from another time. No verão em que todos ficaram doentes Genki foi a única que não adoeceu. Genki é forte, mas problemas com dente intefere direto na alimentação. Só não pode parar de comer. Será que piorou depois da briga com o senhor Momo? Se for pus tem que drenar e usar pomada externa com antibiótico ou sem. Para cicatrização. Genki só poderá tomar anestesia depois da cura da infecção. A anestesia pode matá-la inclusive. Por isso tem que ser anestesia levíssima. A Equipe médica tem que ser muito boa e rápida nesta hora. Convivi muitos anos com veterinários que tratavam pet nestas condições ou piores. Jeito tem. Todo apoio ao zoo, equipe veterinária e principalmente a nossa heroína Genki. 😍😗😗😗

Exames estão sendo realizados?? É tudo muito lento, porque quem esta sentindo dor é a Genki, não os administradores, eu fico muito revoltada, os veterinários precisam realizar vários exames, o estado de saúde da Genki inspira cuidados. Да, жалко ее... и эти проблемы возникли не сейчас. И какая-то опухоль, и поносит постоянно. Они дают антибиотик, но не делают обследования. Я думаю, что ей нужен карантин и врач. Кстати, не знаю, как переведут ее имя написанное Вами в уменьшительно- ласкательной форме- по-моему, у них нет такого изменения в именах. Включите титры на русском, и комментарии тоже переводятся на русский!

The Zoo giving Genki all those treats, APP lessons, BDay Cakes, etc are meaningless if they allow her face to swell and suffer silently. I bet if she began screaming in pain they’d act expeditiously.

That abscess is more than likely from her bad teeth. When are they going to help her with those? If you have animals in captivity like that, you need to make sure you’re taking care of them and doing everything you can for them. You’re responsible for them. They’re not off by themselves they’re locked up and need help when they need help.

I think it is safe to assume they are trying to remedy the problem for Genki. Her injury and limited palette leaves few options. Kidney and liver failure are also of concern with high doses of antibiotics, which is the only option available. It is a precarious moment for mama Genki. 😢

Genki you’re killing me sissy you don’t look good what so ever,, You’re up and moving but that’s the gorilla’s way NEVER SHOW ANY PAIN.. If it was up to me that tooth would have been pulled last year when the infection first showed up and taking a very good look at all your teeth baby.❤❤ It can be done even at her age they need others to keep a closer eye on her heartbeat, oxygen, and other vital things. I was up all night again last night and see an operation/surgery being done on a chimpanzee that had bad teeth the time it took to get his k-9 out was over 58 minutes and all together he was under for over 2 hour’s,, he did have a problem waking up because of his age but he was fine.. That chimpanzee was 42/43 years old very old for him.. But it can be done safely (And before you say a chimpanzee is not the same as a gorilla Yes I know but it’s the age thing here because they are both primates).. ❤❤❤❤I love Genki❤❤❤❤

It is not just one tooth, and she does not have many left. She is too young to have no teeth. She bas has these abcessess before. These vets no her hostory which we do not. She had a brother that did not survive childhood. Anesthesia is very RISKY

Anesthesia is very risky. Also, Genki i has a few teeth left and at her age 39 she may have a decade with no teeth is not good. Unlike humans Gorillas cant use dentures and implants and to have no teeth at 39 is cruel and also may shorten her life. She had absesses vegire in same location and it was treated and went away. Antibiotics is the lesser of two evils.

Definite swelling under the eye. The lump doesn’t look any better. After this time, there should be improvements. Shame on the zoo officials for allowing this. What kind of humans are they. Terrible. What surprises me is that she can eat. I do think eating for her is like a drug or alcohol for humans.
