Line dancing! At a bar I used to go to back in the very early 90’s, there was a version they would play-- I’ve NEVER been able to find that version.. They would say something throughout the song that was like “what you say? Bull**it..what you say?..” I don’t know if it was a special mix or what- it was slowed down and would say something like that throughout the song- the line dancing was on then! Full house! I’ve checked versions out and cannot find it..

Factoid: The term redneck actually comes from 1920s Appalachia in which Miners fought for labor rights and thus red red bandanas around their necks to signify they were members fighting against labor abuse. These miners included white, black, and migrant workers. It is only in the last few decades society started using it as a derogatory term.
@jglynnlc13 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure it came from post civil war era, term used to describe white field workers with sunburnt necks as opposed to indoor factory workers in the north. But I've heard both theories

@@jglynnlc1 I have heard It was applied to that as well. I learned about the miners from both an original source in West Virginia and also in Appalachian history class at college
@blakewestwood80963 жыл бұрын
Actually it comes from the original Irish settlers in the Appalachian mountains. They worked the land and had sunburned necks. The term became more widely used after the civil war due to poor white people in the south working in the field, thus having sunburned necks. The whole mining theory is easy to prove as false. Just look up the first use of the term in historical writing.

Same here in the 80s. When I went with my cousin and her husband out one night to a country dance in the 80s, they were dressed in jeans, belt buckle, cowboy-hat and boots. 🤠 I had a total different style. My hair was very short for a girl with an asymmetrical cut, many fine highlights in red, orange, silver, gold and burgundy. I wore a black very tight jeans with grey strips, a t-shirt with the Ramones, bright green Converse and a black & white Kufiya (normally an Arabian headdress) as a scarf.
