It's a weird thing about commentating on people who you know are smarter/better than you - You always give them the benefit of the doubt because you assume they are doing something sophisticated that you can't see yet. After all, they are a better player so they naturally will see some moves that you miss. And you know that they actually do think in a deep way about lines of play, so they probably know that this move looks weak and have a plan for why and what happens next. And of course this is Magnus. Magnus, best chess player possibly ever, who deliberately pushes opponents into unfamiliar positions and beats them with sheer chess. So when we see a mistake... Well, when you're in the pantheon of chess gods, yeah you get the benefit of the doubt.

dude i watched this game on hans' channel yesterday it was really interesting and exciting to watch especially at the end there. it was pretty clear when it happened that it was a mouse slip, you could even see the cursor glitching out. and you know what, he took it really well too, because he realized it was a slip and he had a lot of really good moments in the game, he grabbed a draw from a loss
