@@Imalight Levy's job is that of a streamer and content creator, not a chess player. Both sides have missed the point of Road to GM completely. Levy is not fervorously trying to get the GM title, nor is he doing it just for the Road to GM content - he's doing it for fun. The entire point of him going after Road to GM is to keep him a chess "goal". BECAUSE it's so hard to become a GM without actively training FOR the GM title, he's taking it lightly specifically to make it last, so he can stay invested in chess while also being able to dedicate time to his main job as a streamer. If he does manage to become a GM eventually, great! He has achieved his goal and will probably just shift to a different target. Would be a great "challenge completion" for his life. But if he doesn't - and this is what some people seem to not understand - *it's okay*. The point of Road to GM is not to fervorously hunt the GM title, nor is it just for revenue from the videos, but it's for his own mental health and entertainment in his job, which, trust me, is CRITICAL in the long run.

Hi gotham! Im not sure if you'll see this message, but after last vid's "speech" I just couldn't stop myself from commenting. First off you're genuinely an amazing person. The way you talk, the way you have a connection with your viewers throughout the video, the way you share many thing of your life with us and the way you let us follow you on this grandmaster journey shows how much you care about us and how much trust you have in us. And im no perfect human being. I too don't like certain youtubers, but I find disgusting hating someone for something so dumb and without providing constructive criticism. And even if theres still some people sending hate comments, remember that most of us will always appreciate your videos, and will always be excited to check them after a long day of school or work. Truly, Thank you.
@LellstenChessАй бұрын
I never usually comment on yt but having been a sub of Levy’s since he was at 3 or 400k and having experienced his well-deserved progression from near the beginning, I appreciate when people write things like this in the comments here. As you alluded to, something about the content just comforts you and fills the time when you’re at a loose end or ready to sleep. So thank you for showing your appreciation- the haters can never put this channel down more than commenters like you can uplift it. I hope you’re doing great wherever you are in the world, anonymous user.

@22:35 There’s a level of perversion where you start to get intuitive on how long you should wait before playing Qh5 to give yourself the best odds of them premoving. It isn’t necessarily right away, sometimes it’s better to wait a minute like you’ve DC’d, then make the move, because they’re more likely to premove just in case you return. Villainy at its darkest.
