Hello lovelies! I'm sorry the quality is a bit all over the place in this video but in the end I wanted to just focus on getting it out rather than putting it off for months while I obsess over trying to make it perfect - Still settling in and getting to grips with new equipment and a new environment!
I may not have done everything very professionally but I'm so pleased with how it turned out!

The paint job is so good looking! Red is actually one of the hardest colors to deal with because it's more translucent than any other colors. I've only done the sponge thing once helping a friend paint an accent wall and we had this glaze stuff that we added to the paint and made it a thinner and easier to spread and get that texture. That line you ended up doing is impressively crisp. Looks amazing. Also LOVE that projector for the ceiling, very soothing.

When you get new lightbulbs for your chandelier, you should get tiny little black lamp shades! Those things do LOADS for setting the tone of a room! They’d look so pretty and help direct the light downward rather than upward into the ceiling! 😍

I’m going to explain how to do the ombré just for those that are curious. So a mistake that many people make when wanting to do a project like that is assuming that two colors like black and red will just blend and create a natural looking fade. But because the colors are so completely different that actually doesn’t work. You would have had to experiment by mixing the black with white and red to make a slightly lighter color and the soak the sponge in water squeeze some of the water out so it’s not soaping wet, then dip it in the shade that is slightly lighter and redder then dab it back quickly in the water and then apply it where the black meets the red. You would have to keep mixing shades and doing it until it eventually the black blended with the red. You would have to later the colors and create a good amount of overlap. Also you would need to make sure that the paint your using could be diluted with water for it to work.

Or, if the paint doesn't dilute with water, just create a bordo transition shade that's in-between black and red, split the sponge into two and use one half to work on red-bordo ombre, while red is still wet, and the other half on bordo-black, while black is still wet. That way you only need to make one gradient at the time, instead of tackling a whole array of shades and on such a big scale.

Lol, if I was a homeowner, it'd definitely be full of oddities and very well executed painted themed walls. 😅 I worked in a shop that was black and red... the name of the black paint was "dark magic"... I stood where my booth was to be& said "You know it's really hot over here for some reason...odd..." My boss said that the last renters of the building had a church here, I looked down where I was standing 👁👇👁 (🖤 my new booth🖤 ), and could clearly see the skuff marks from where the preacher/podium stood....😂 I said, "well, that explains why I'm sweating 🤣🤣" Good fun. 😂

It definitely looks like a blue black at first. I wanted my hair dyed black and the stylist used a blue black and I was beyond stressed too. But on another note your mental resilience is amazing. Youve come so far and i know everyone agrees when I say with how crappy life has been, prices and all that, being able to see how far youve come makes me feel accomplished in a way because even though my life isnt the best either... For acrylic paints I use a brush for red, a different brush for black, and another brush for blending. I also use water to help, don’t know how well water would work with wall paint though. 😜 I haven’t finished the video yet but I’m sure your room looks amazing. 🖤

Your bedroom turned out beautiful Kaya!!! The whole house from what I've seen on Instagram. While my husband and I are both goth at heart, we did a more boring bedroom but our front sitting room is Victorian Gothic themed and my office (I work from home 40+ hrs/week) is modern Gothic. They're the 2 favorite rooms in my house. I love how my office turned out and the cemetery photos we had printed on canvas are our own photos from a VERY old and beautiful cemetery in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.

For the ombre wall a large roller painted half / half helps as well as diluting the paint (depending on what kind is used) but it's a mess I'd rather never touch again ~ so happy with how it came out!! It's so lovely seeing you grow and get back into your comfort ♡

A better solution for the bathroom mirror may be a cheap light weight decorative mirror that is less than 7 lbs and heavy duty command hooks that stick to the wall to hang it. They can hold like 7.5 lbs. The bedroom looks amazing! I Love the idea of the red ceiling and red at the top Of the walls.
