1. Rainbowfish
Aquarium rainbow fish make the perfect suitable tank mate for Gourami fish because of their laid-back demeanor. In a community aquarium the last thing you want is aggression and rainbow fish never displace aggression. They seem to be doing nothing but swimming around in their Shoals together and being happy. This this makes for the perfect fish to be kept in a community aquarium.
2. Danio Fish

My Blue Opaline lives with 4 black Mollies and a Betta in a heavy planted 40 breeder and they all get along great. The betta was a bit wary of the gourami when I added him, and I had a ten gallon for the betta set just in case. But all he did was flair a bit for half a day. After that all six fish just do their own thing. I never though my betta would be chill with another slightly bigger fish, but they really don't mind each other. Just goes to show that all fish can defy expectations. Keep the aquariums going everyone.

Thanks for mentioning skirted tetras. They are my fave. Have a 55 gallon with skirted tetras, corydoras, and otos. Never thought of adding a gourami as a centerpiece fish because I was thinking they’d get nipped but maybe….. also awesome house! Totally jealous, in a good way.

You covered what I needed to know. We just bought two moonlight gouramis and the bigger fish appeared swimming around with the sharks of some MB’s. Black streak down side and red around nise abs gills; very active and flashy. They get along with the bigger hiursmi; the smaller glutamine is in hiding. We actually witnessed the bigger gourami attack the smaller gourami; now, at 9 m I am going to attempt to catch the smaller hours i and move it to a different tank; ie my Betta tank which contains tetras and Corydoras. Your video helped me in choosing the more peaceful tank even though there is a beta in it. The hours I is supposed to get along by with bettas. Hope people are right.

I have a question, I just took my sons blue Gourami because he was mean and I put him in my 35 gallon tank with an angelfish?
