Modern science is examining, not just the amount of a constituent, but its bio-availiability. A mushroom or mycelium may test high in a constituent with lab equipment, but that doesn't inform the consumer whether or not they will be able to absorb it. So while the mushroom extract may have less total cordycepin than the fruiting body or mycelium, it may have more bio-avaliable cordycepin than eating the fruiting body or mycelium directly. I'm happy to see citizen scientists at least test their products, but videos like this one don't provide the full picture. Would love to see a follow-up video addressing this and other issues mentioned in the comments.

I am wondering where you are sourcing your boxes. I use to use plastic clam shells when i was at the Crescent City Farmers Market in New Orleans. I sold Oysters and Shiitake 8 oz / $6. I have moved to Tulsa OK and am just now getting back up to a production level and am looking for a new container. I really prefer paper bags, as I think the mushrooms hold up really well in them but the clamshells and what you are using offer the visual appeal. Also if you don’t mind, what are the oysters and the lions mane going for in Denver. Thank you so much, your videos are really inspirational and not the normal content. Thanks for all you do for the community. Mush Love! :)

Good afternoon, I was wondering if you had any suggestions on where to buy quality production grade liquid culture? I've checked out your Etsy page but I didn't see a lot of the strains you feature in your videos. Do you have another website you sell culture?

The black king is 100% Pleurotus. it's just called black king cause of the traits of having a fat stem. it's a cross between 2 Pleurotus, no Eryngii pairing involved.

Can you help me understand how to package for say an hour or 2 of travel? I'm in Texas and don't know how to keep them freshest for longest.
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi2 жыл бұрын
in a cooler with ice packs wrapped in paper towels and store the mushrooms separately in a paper bag 👍

@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi thanks so cool dry air circulating? Like 40°? If you had the ideal packaging would a box with air holes be best? Or plastic wrapped like in the grocery store?

Are you growing enokis, chestnuts? Maitaki? Why it why not?
@FreshfromtheFarmFungi3 жыл бұрын
Yes we grow all of them! (seasonally because of environmental factors - even though we grow indoors there are some slight variations in temperature because we pull in our fresh air from outside)

@@FreshfromtheFarmFungi are you heating your fruiting room at all? I 'm setting up my fruiting room with two separate areas, one that's warmer for reishi, LM and a warm shitaki, maybe some tubs. Then I'll have a cooler room that will draw warm air from the warm room when necessary, I'm getting co2 controllers to bring in fresh air. Warm rooms also half the size also
