Hey there...awesome videos! I have govee pro model and teying to splice using the provided connector...im struggling to strip the wire with my strippers with it being a flat wire and the 3 wires inside...do you have somehow seperate the 3 wires from the flat outside sheathing and then strip the individual wires? They look really small like 22 or 24 guage. I tried stripping the flat wire and mangled it! @@jbsdiytv

I love my Govee outdoor lights, creativity is that your will. They're so easy to customize cut and splice as long as you don't exceed the maximum length for the power adapter supplied. Nice work on your install.

Very clean install. Homeowners should be happy with the results.

They absolutely were happy. We traveled 265miles to take care of this install. They thought we wouldn’t travel that far but after having a few conversations they were pleased to hear we confirmed a day. Thanks for watching🙏

I bought the elites at Costco, but took them back so I could buy the pros. I like the fact that splicing doesn’t void the warranty and they are on sale today for 25% off on Amazon

Yes that is correct. Great choice

What size heat shrink are you using? Ever think about soldering and heat shrink instead of using the provided Govee split kit? Those things are huge!
@shannonkingsley68003 ай бұрын
You cut the end of the cord and covered it in Heat shrink. There's no issue with doing this to remove lights you cant use? And you just leave the cut end as it is, wrapped and sealed? Great videos keep it up!

Do they make a splice tee? Hmmmm so you could drop from like an eave of a roof to a front door ya know

I have the 100' Pro outdoor lights. I want to have one scene (a festival scene) go on from 5pm-1:00am and then a different scene (just white lights over my front door) go from 1:05 am-7:00 am.. how can I set the timer to do that?

Are you using a brad nailer?
@jbsdiytv2 ай бұрын
Yes, we are using a Ryobi Brushless 18 gauge Brad nailer for each clip. Gun is has self adjusting impact settings for pressure and nail depth. Two nails on each side of the clip. We have done over 150 installs like this in a 2yr span and all the clients are happy with their installs. No lights falling

Do you mean you're nailing each individual light's bracket instead of screwing them in? How are you connecting the plastic that's hiding the wires in-between each light to the soffit?

Can the power adapter be either on the end or start of the wires?
@jbsdiytv7 ай бұрын
No, the power adapter and controller need to be directionally to properly perform like they should. Each end has a male connection and female connection. The female connection is the start of the strand. The controller where the lights get hooked up is a male connection with 3 prongs
