Mario Monti how many of those paper draining do you have to buy ?does it come with the air fryer ?
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
I buy the 100 pack with holes. I like the GoWISE brand because it has more punched holes in it. They range in price from $8 and up depending on the brand and whether or not it has holes. Some AF's may come with a starter pack, but it would be listed if it did. I like them for easy cleanup. Thanks for watching!

Dude, I've been using Kentucky Kernel for 20 years on everything. That stuff is the bomb. It makes really awesome gravy as well as tempura, fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, just everything. I've actually had people ask me if the chicken I was serving was KFC. My sister asks me to bring her the flour when I visit because she can't find it in her area.
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
Gravy, eh? Never thought of that one! I make my own version of KKSF, but using this is so much easier and quicker. I do like to add parm cheese in the mixture sometimes too. I have an updated video of this to post, I am thinking of dipping egg, KKSF, and then my breadcrumb mixture of panko, Italian and parm cheese. Should be interesting to say the least! Good job Mario.

Thank you! Yes, once you get used to your air fryer it's pretty hands off. I check it a lot during the video for different reasons because usually there's comparisons involved. Speed ups are important, I didn't do that in the beginning with many of my videos and they became too long. Setting the speed up points takes quite a bit of time on my side, but well worth it in the end. Thanks for watching!

Mario, just wanted you to know, you gave me the knowledge and courage to use my air fryer again. When I first bought mine, I added sliced potatoes to make fries and they came out very bad. No, I did not read any instructions( I am very bad at that), and I put my fryer away. I happened by your KZbin channel. Watching you provided a boatload of info and I was very curious about my air fryer again. I have a GoWise 3.7 quart fryer. I made an investment and bought an Accessory kit and now I am going to try everything I have an accessory for. In the time I got my air fryer and renewed my interest, I lost my cookbook. I am now looking for recipes online, before purchasing the GW cookbook. Thanks again for all the videos and information your provide.

I used the recipe and made chicken wings last night for dinner. They came out very,very good. The crusty skin was good and they were juicy and done on the inside. I tried to follow the recipe to the "t" and used a thermometer to check for doneness. I would give them a 9.9 on the 10 scale. The only thing missing was the dark color of HyVee and KFC chicken. (the gold standard). But I am very impressed with the GoWise results and the cleanup of the fryer was fast and simple. Oh! And a 10 on the video. Thanks.
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, I appreciate it! When you say the dark color, was it because it was too light, or that it wasn't golden brown enough? If they were too light, it may be you need to spritz a little more oil (EVOO) on them before cooking and after flipping. (Compared to mine, were yours lighter, darker or the same?) Thanks for watching!
@johnwhite55576 жыл бұрын
I would say about the same as yours. Then I used a butter spray. Then I may switch to a spray bottle and use regular oil. I heard there are ingredients in non-stick spray that is not good for non-stick surfaces. And that could maybe have an effect on color too. Next project. A blooming onion then maybe what we call in the Midwest. Haystack onion rings.

I really like the way you flour your chicken. I have never seen it done like that before. I’ve always done the plastic bag procedure. I am learning a lot just from watching your videos. When you added the barbecue sauce did you cook it any longer. The video just shows the outcome after you put the barbecue sauce on it. Thank you for sharing your experience with us who are just learning about these new products and techniques . I also like hearing your comments on the results you are getting from your demos. I am still researching air fryers before I buy one so your opinion goes along way. Thank you, Jean from liberty, Texas.
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
Jean Hudson in one or two of my videos you'll see me applying the sauce. Usually toss the very hot wings in a bowl, splatter on some barbecue sauce, put a plate over the bowl and Shake It vigorously. You could put it back in the AF after cooking, but I find when the wings are hot it's not necessary. Now if you took the barbecue sauce out of the fridgerator one thing you could do is heat it up in a bowl in the microwave or stove top. If I remember I take the barbecue sauce out of the fridge when I start so it comes to room temperature in the bowl.

@@capableofgreatness8804 I understand. I've struggled with weight as well, for much of my life. I tell people, you cannot lose weight, if you are not ready and 100% committed. That is why I took so long to commit and go. You are ready, when you are ready. If you commit only 50%, you will fail. One day you will wake up and say, today is the day! When that happens, you will succeed! The second part is upkeep. Once you reach a goal, you have to stay strong and keep committing. You will have bad days, no doubt. Some weeks you lose big, sometimes you don't at all and maybe gain some back. You just need to keep at it. It helps to have a good support system in place. In my case, it was my brother, who kept me informed. I'm sure I will hear from you, when that day arrives! On another point, I made the KFC wings tonight for my wife and daughter. If you are just seasoning the wings with spices, and no breading or flour, you could skip the Extra Virgin Olive Oil. (Or Avocado or Coconut oil.) Wings will drain off moisture below, and if cooked right, the skin will be crispy, with the inside still being moist.

It would appear that by using that paper in the bottom of the Air Fryer, that you'd be cutting off a significant amount of air flow / circulation. All though the paper does have holes in it, it has no where near the amount of holes that the bottom of the fryer has and covers up the majority of them. Have you tried and or noticed a difference with / w/o that paper?
@m3rdpwr5 жыл бұрын
I don't see much of a difference, except when I'm cleaning up! The GoWISE brand round parchment paper with holes, has more of them than the others I've seen. Hi Mario, would you mind sharing your recipe on the seasoned flour? Good job with the wings.

I used Kentucky Kernel Seasoned Flour here. I haven't made my own in so long, because I've bought a case of KKSF. Let me find the link to my version, if that's what you are referring to.

@m3rdpwr3 жыл бұрын
So, because of my new dietary restrictions, I haven't made it in years. However, it's pretty much the same base, so you could add some extra white pepper, smoked paprika and some preferably fresh grated Parmesan cheese. In the meantime, I can see if I can find the recipe I used back in the day. It was a Twist on Kirby's recipe.

Nice video. I picked up a NuWave 6qt last week. Have made a 7lb whole chicken it so far. Also sweet potato fries. Love it. keep up the good work on the videos. Where's your gloves? LOL. Never saw someone shake bbq sauce on two plates like that. LOL
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
I know someone who just picked up the NuWave and she likes it. The AF does do a wonderful job on these ~5lb chickens. I have a video on that if you haven't seen that yet. :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4u8pomahpapjLM I have gloves, but sometimes it's just easier to not use them, and I end up forgetting the other half. My mother and grandmother were old school and I guess I just developed the habit. As far as mixing in the sauce, it's much easier for me that way than the Ziploc bag method. lol The sauce is too thick when cold to flip it around in the bowl. I picked up a 3-pack of different BBQ sauces the other day, so I will be doing a 4-way taste test soon enough on them. Thanks for watching, I appreciate your support!

Very rarely do I preheat the air fryer. The only time I would preheat it, is if I'm using a grilling grate, or giving an example on video. Thanks for watching!

I should add that at times I do preheat the air fryer ovens. They seem to perform best when they've been preheated, compared to a regular air fryer.

POMPEAN EVOO from BJs There are several different ones, they are much the same. EVOO, Coconut oil, etc. See time link below as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqalkmeCdrWFirsm49s Amazon has it, but they charge way, way too much. amzn.to/2M2lVr2 You can get 2 for $5 at BJs, probably at the super market too. Alternatively, you can buy a pump and put your own oils in. You just have to manually pump it. amzn.to/2M2lVr2 Thanks for watching!

@m3rdpwr5 жыл бұрын
All the time! Whether it be Dino Chicken for my daughter, or some sort of coated chicken. Dino chicken gets cooked as is @ 400F for 8-12 minutes, depending on the AF. The breaded, or coated chicken would be treated like the video, where you may want to mist it with EVOO. Thanks for watching!

Looking for a new fryer. Do you have any problem with the coating coming off of the basket? Many reviews on Amazon say this is a problem. Thanks
@m3rdpwr6 жыл бұрын
Short answer, yes. I do abuse my AF though. Would I buy this model again? Yes, I would. There are other good options if you are concerned about that though. Check out these DeLonghi and Philips options. amzn.to/2tkIeNE amzn.to/2tmDwyR 3.5qt amzn.to/2tmDZB7 4qt I have the Breville Smart Oven Air and I don't like it as much as the AF for many things. It does a good job, but the Breville in my opinion should be treated more like a convection oven, than an Air Fryer. There is a new GoWISE 5.8qt model that I list in the description, amzn.to/2J0DG4g however it's more or less the same. GoWISE, PowerXL and others say the same thing. The Pan, Basket and Handle are considered expendable items. I did not know that when I bought it. Like I said though, I love my GoWISE. If you are concerned, try the DeLonghi I mention. Philips is nice too, but expensive and smaller than most. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much Mario, I have looked into the Paula Deen but the only thing I didn't like about it is its not digital. They say the ceramic coating is the greatest though. Oh well, can't have perfect all the time. ;-) Have a blessed day.
