Hey Gracie, thank you so much for another heartfelt reaction to Ren and Chinchilla, I love not only your emotional response but as well your deep connection to the pure music, lyrics aside... Yes, it's another sad song reflecting Ren's own experience and suffering when his pains from Lyme disease were so deep that he was bedridden for 23 hours a day over months ("I wish I could move, walk right out of this tomb..."), but also a hommage to a close friend of him who committed suicide ("when he gave up the fight, a quick decision late in the night, that stayed with me all of my life... I miss you so!") - but musically this is such a beautiful song again, actually this morning I woke up and found myself humming the song though I had not listened to it for a couple of days... Even though it took another listen, I could see the emotions racing from the very start. it's a tough track to listen to, almost like we are intruding into Ren's grieving. When you are alone in that numb, senseless dark, it can feel very much like a tomb. We are are so lucky there are many facets to Ren (and Chinchilla). He can do fun, silly and frivolous too... You should listen to the three "Love Music" tracks for his lighter side.

Actually, I think that except for the very last line, the rest of the song until then was sung from the perspective of Ren's late friend Joe Hughes. who committed suicide at age 19.
