100% agreed an apple is not dessert. And also agree with everyone saying this seems like a weight loss diet. Any fitness youtubers or healthy eating channels eat like this. It's not a bad diet, just a bit, lacking somehow. Lacking in joy? But that could be the lack of oat enthusiasm haha That kale breakfast needed toast! Also it feels very banana heavy? Which would be a problem for me cuz I have a banana a day as a spare serving of fruit so...

Not sure for others but my maintenance “diet” is similar to this. If you’re sedentary the carbs make me more lethargic instead of giving me energy. Given how sedentary most people are, it’s possible this advice leans towards less carbs to help sedentary people feel better. Plus I see chickpeas, bananas, onions, garlic, tomatoes… none of these are low carb so really it’s less “grain” carbs but you still get good veg and fiber so don’t think it’s be as exhausting as like Keto or something wild

I never liked overnight oats until I tried this way of having them (got it from a random insta story I think) basically do 1/3 cup oats, about 1/3 cup milk of choice *I usually just do it until the oats are JUST covered in the Tupperware or jar that I use,* then I think the key thing is a HEAPED tablespoon of plain/greek yogurt (either dairy/non-dairy is fine and also a nice flavoured yog is fine if you want some extra flavour) then give it a good mix up, top with frozen berries, seeds etc and a drizzle of honey/syrup. Leave overnight and you should have a thicker texture and the frozen berries will have softened. If its too thick you can always add a tiny bit of milk but that way its always a good texture and not too wet. I highly recommend frozen blueberries, but also you can customize and make carrot cake oats, apple pie, peanut butter.... honestly the list goes on!! I am a regular oat hater but these have converted me.

I couldn't remember if you tried this already in your many trying-to-like-oatmeal expeditions but I recently switched from old-fashioned oats to steel cut oats because I was getting sick of the texture of old-fashioned and I'm really enjoying steel cut! It's a lot more of a creamier texture and I find that it melds with toppings a lot better than old-fashioned oats. It definitely takes longer to cook but I'll usually just make a big batch at the beginning of the week and keep it in my fridge. Anyway love your vids- the homey vibes are my fave :)

Hi grace! You say you don't like porridge, but you reeeeeally need to try this recipe. It is from the restaurant "grød" (which means porridge in danish). You cannot go wrong with this one!! You need: 1,5 dl whole milk 1,5 dl water 1,5 dl oats Small drissle of salt For toppings: (put on enough of this!!) Dulche de Leche Fresh apples cut in cubes Roasted almonds You can make the Dulche de Leche yourself like this: 1 can of condensed milk Water Sea salt Boil the can in water for 3,5 hours When boiled, open the can and take out the delicious caramel sauce and put it in a jar. Add salt and a bit of water if you want.

Grack, as a porridge lover I finally understand your quarrels - it’s too runny!!! Porridge should be thick enough that you can put it over your head and it won’t fall. Trust me it tastes so much better - for 70g oats I only use 200mLs liquid and microwave for 1 min 30, stir, and then another 30 seconds
@KyokoandSeikoDance3 жыл бұрын
I have become obsessed with oatmeal in the past few days I found this recipe! Take a half a teaspoon of butter or some oil and throw it in a pan/pot with the amount of oats for one serving. Fry it up on low heat, make sure u don't burn it, stir it often for like 2 or 3 minutes and then pour your milk of choice just to the level of the oats and stir for 5 or 7 min on the gas. Once most of the milk is absorbed leave it off gas, cover the pot for 5 mins or so and then add toppings!

Hey this was a very entertaining video, well done. If you were to do a similar video in future, I would love to hear more about the factors and outcomes of this change. So if you spoke more about how healthily you eat normally, how different the diets are. Diets effect energy levels and hormones throughout the day, so how different you feel at intervals during the day would have been interesting, when compared to how you eat normally. Whether you expected change or how severe would also add to this. Just my thoughts, still enjoyed the video.
