I'm not trying to become the best color editor or anything like that but I want to be able to produce something acceptable with footage from mid-range and budget phones. Like I really want to be able to color correct and grade any type of footage and I really want to see a video on how to color correct and grade footage from phones like Samsung A51 and other budget cameras. cause usually unprofessional footage don't have good lighting and other important stuff for the footage to be easy to edit. I've searched for it on youtube but I have not found a video on this topic. If you would like I would be glad to send footage. can you do a video on it please?

Start with this kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3OblZ9qaK1gg9k it covers what he is doing on the first two nodes. But if you are a real newbie even that is too far advance. At this point, I am 50 hours worth of Davinci studying plus much more real-world practice. His explanation of process and creativity are gold for someone like me, but will just overwhelm a brand new student.

@dylanrogersfilm4 жыл бұрын
I see why folks would find this hard to follow. I was able to follow along with a few pauses and rewind, but my background includes 20 years of Photoshop experience/retouching photography. I'm fairly new to DaVinci, doing my first project in DaVinci a feature length film. I just finished a 5 hour course on Udemy: "DaVinci Resolve 15: Color Correction & Grading" which covered some best practices with the nodes and the 'color correcting' steps. So it's interesting seeing the similarities and differences between the two. The Udemy instructor made a more clear distinction between 'color correction' and 'color grading'. Waqas, focuses on attaining a particular look, assuming you already have a solid foundation to start with.

Great video! What if you didn't want to affect the hair in the skin node? I can't stop noticing the hair has patches of different colours
@theqazman4 жыл бұрын
The only part of his hear that it's affecting or the parts that it should be affecting because they're not the same skin color as the skin so that is totally normal there's no way around it the reason why your eyes can't move anywhere else is because you're looking for something to critique instead of looking at the entire image because trust me when you're watching a movie there's 10 million things that I can pick a part but when we are focusing on the characters were not looking for every single strained of their hair and see if something is not graded or lit perfectly. Also, there is absolutely no work around it if you were going to go to the qualifier out it will do exactly what it did in this video.

@@theqazman the skin adjustment node only selected part of the hair, but why no select it all? you add more of a difference in his hair color. Also you could have power windowed parts of the background out by isolating your subject.
@videolad30574 жыл бұрын
@@theqazman So you specifically wanted the subject to have a desaturated mohawk?
@bobbiethomas51374 жыл бұрын
@@videolad3057 The bottom line is that you needed address how you desaturated the shot in the beginning, because that is where the problem started @6:06, and it's even more apparent in the final grade. Later in the video, you went so far as to suggest that trying to fix the issues in the background would be time consuming. If you're grading for yourself, then that's fine, however, if you think telling a client that trying to put color back in his hair or putting in power windows and possibly tracking them in order to address the red on the field or the shed in the background will take too much time, good luck with that. I started correcting on a Dubner ( I think that is what is was called), then a Sunburst, Polgel, DaVinci 8:8:8, & 2K Plus,so I knew what we could and could not do back then so when we got our first Resolve 8, I was in heaven! .
