I cannot wait for this game to release. I'm still bitter over the handling and pricing of the first entry, but I am glad Cygames decided to stick with it and not be kept down. The original would have had a hard time regardless of the Pandemic. It is awesome to see that they've realized that and are adding even more systems. My primary concerns are the monetization/pricing and which fan favourites make it in and which get left out. *Fingers crossed that Galleon gets added.*

The roster is gonna be all characters from first game (including DLC ones) plus Anila, Siegfried and maybe other characters all available from start. They will likely announce DLC characters after launch, but it's safe to assume all so far will be on day 1.

New mechanics, New characters, rollback netcode, more online features, improved graphics, etc. This is gonna totally revive the game tbh. Barely anyone plays it now because the online was so bad. This is the best time possible to be getting into the game.

Pretty much what they do with Guilty Gear, xrd , rev , rev 2 Arc system works kind of does this a lot but they normally do it for their own IPS also goes back to Max and his old "what defines a new fighting game to you?" To answer your story question. They said there will be an entire new story but it will also include the old story from the previous game. The Story mode was pretty robust and a game in itself with tons of RPG elements, boss fights, mobs, weapons etc and crazy music. It will also have new modes like the fall guys party game thing. As others have said, new mechanics so gameplay is different, rollback, Crossplay, improved graphics, and lots of new characters but the old ones will all be there with new moves. looking dope af

This is the alpha 2 version or the rev 2 version of the game. It acts functionally as a sequel to the game since it’s a sweeping change to the balance and core systems. Bundles all previous dlc and adds new base characters. The engine was also altered so that the graphics are better and look more similar to the mobile game art style. Plus rollback and cross play.

@@ZephyrK_ that’s not how licensing works my friend. Cr doesn’t own the copyright or hold any power over the ip. They had the rights to produce and profit off of the ip on behalf of cygames. In order to completely pull out of a region and effectively relinquish those rights back to cygames they would have needed to consult them. Also there is no incentive for cygames to put effort in to adding English options to the jp version. The reason the gb version is even getting shut down was low profits.
