Danya when he reaches the opening of the second game in his daily speedrun session: Well you see in the 1900’s there was this group of chess players called the hypermodernists. And these guys, among them Reti who you may recognize by the Reti opening, questioned the prevailing idea that you have to occupy the center with pawns in the opening. Instead they decided to develop their own pieces in a manner so as to let the other player occupy the center with pawns, and fire on those pawns from a distance, often punishing their opponent for overextending.

In case there is new players following this series I thought it was appropriate to give an update where I am at now. 8 months after my previous comment, My online rating peaked at 2400 and is constantly around 2300. I drew against multiple times Finnish champion and International Master Mika Karttunen in an over-the-board 90min game. Great, , entertaining and most importantly super informative content as always - I sincerely LOVE your speedrun! (even though it is probably the "slowest" speedrun in history :P) One question though - did something terrible happen to your camera? It seems as if your webcam video quality went way down, looks like 360p at most. It's not a huge deal, but it's always nice to be able to see your facial gestures clearly. Just a thought :)

forgive my naivety, but what do the "bits" do for Daniel, or for anyone who receives them? What's their purpose?
@rathelmmc31943 жыл бұрын
It’s Twitch funny money that the streamers then convert to real money. 100 bits is about 1 USD.
@BB-mw9pu3 жыл бұрын
It is a token used internally on a website called Twitch, where he's streaming. Viewers can buy "bits" and "cheer" (donate) them to their favorite streamer. A single bit is worth one cent, so a 100 is $1.

The bishop would be undefended on d4, so after he takes the knight with his bishop, you have to recapture with the d pawn in order to protect your bishop with the queen and pin yourself... Or maybe he just didn't see that the pawn is hanging
