It was just after 2 p.m. on April 18 when Toronto police were called to a stabbing on a quiet street in Toronto, Ont.
Inside the home, they found an elderly man suffering from stab wounds. Sadly he could not be saved and was pronounced dead on scene.
Police arrested 32-year-old Massimo Alonzi and charged him with second-degree murder, and have now identified the victim as 90-year-old Antonio Alonzi - Massimo's grandfather.
Global’s Catherine McDonald has the details.

i was born with Autism and a rare chromosome deletion which caused soooooo maby problems like psychotic tendencies, OCD behaviors and other issues too i never asked to he that way, i was born like that i never chose to become like that and i know that sooooo many things people develop psychotic disorders from people treated them badly or their under sooooo much stress being a signer/songwriter must put pressure on sooooo many talented artists and stress as well due to the magazine people following them around and talking pictures of them when they don’t want to be bothered it’s horrible absolutely horrible, i honestly don’t blame people for developing psychosis or psychotic tendencies and behaviors like that sometimes because the brain can only take soooo much then it eventually goes cookoo,

It would be nice if the media paid tribute to the victim as much as they talk about the past accomplishments of the accused. It doesn’t really matter who he toured with in the past if he’s killing people today.

It is VERY difficult. Insanely so. Most of this is on our psychiatrist organizations who don't seem to care or they'd be pushing for expansion. It took me SIX WEEKS to get my adhd pills refilled...and WOW was I a danger to society while waiting. And they only gave me for six months!! And I'm 54 not a kid..its a joke. I never had a problem with healthcare here just mental healthcare.

Getting help is ridiculously difficult. There are loads of crappy mental healthcare workers who have degrees because they’ve passed the necessary exams but no knowledge or care for people. It’s very, very difficult to find good care and often very difficult to get the right treatment/medication.

1:25 I listened to her several times and I wasn’t sure if I heard her correctly or not but did she say that this is not a crime? That it’s mental illness? In reference to the homicide he committed against his grandfather. Got some news for you lady, terminating someone’s life by way of your hand is a crime, it’s called homicide. She’s probably right though, he’ll be found NCR and change his name, be out in a short while and be living beside some unfortunate, unsuspecting person.

‪Massimo was a good friend of mine for many years, although we’ve been estranged for several years. He truly is a very talented musician. The person I knew loved his grandfather and would never do this; anyone who knew him saw that he was having serious trouble with his mental health the past few years and God only knows what triggered a surely manic episode. This is tragic from every angle. God rest his soul and have mercy on those afflicted with mental illness. No story is black and white, please be sensitive with your comments for the sake of his relatives and loved ones who must surely be suffering right now.

I had undiagnosed bi polar for years, it was a very tough time indeed, not knowing what was wrong with me, 30 yrs until I noticed similarities between my older sister & myself, she had been in & out of mental health services, went to my doctor, said what I noticed, felt, I had been assaulted the same day, very sad, went to a forensic shrink, who gave me the wonderful news, (yes my dear, you're off your rocker)😂😂😂 My life changed after that, BUT, I NEVER ASSAULTED ANYONE, may have been loud, vocally, but... Mental illness, depending on what type, does Not mean you don't have Realisation of what is Right or Wrong, because you do, I did, mental illness can be used by individuals to attempt to take away blame for the HORRENDOUS CRIMES they commit!!!!

This is absolutely devastating. So sad that a 90 year old man is murdered by his grandson who obviously looked severely unwell. Some form of mental institutions must be reintroduced to society. I really hope we revisit this because there is not enough money for "community mental health supports". Just not going to happen.

Poor old man to reach that great age just to have his life snuffed out by his own kin. All we seem to hear about these days is older people being murdered by their younger relatives. It’s gotta be drug related as drugs are so prevalent nowadays and drug use causes brain damage There’s always been mental illness but never this much familial murders. Join the dots. I don’t feel a bit sorry for the grandson hope he rots in jail. God help us all having to deal with the drug addled younger generations. . RIP Antonio. 🕊️

Can’t blame him with these cost of living prices and fucked up economy since 2020. This will get worse around the world the longer more and more of our generation loses financial security and the hope of even having a roof over our heads while working more than full time highest paying job. Keep the economy this way, the world will literally come to an end within the next couple of decades.
