"Typically a second set opener, ensconced in that slot for the bulk of the five years it had been played leading up to 6/11/93, at Buckeye a moment of inspiration must have prodded the band into playing it here as the second song of the first set, an unprecedented placement (it opened a handful of shows in 1988 and 1989, but was never played as the second song of the first set)." - David Lemieux

Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

Even through the 90's everyone knew how to seriously rip... love that Vince is getting more spotlight as well, he has such a cool and unique playing style!!

I think that this was my first show of 13, the last being Jerry's last. Such a great show. For all the Christians waiting for Jesus to return, he already did and sang this song. That is all.

I really enjoy the rhythm section sound from 1993. Phil, Billy, and Mickey had a way of keeping a pulsing groove going. You can hear it all over the songs from this era. Here, you see Mickey's moving from sticks to what look like mastodon bones (!) and playing percussion (congas) more than traditional bass, snare, hi-hat--definitely give this version a nice driving beat. Oh how I wish Mickey would bring back his cymbals and sticks and play more traditional set nowadays--bring some drama and explosiveness to sleepy D & Co.

Will never forget this moment in time for me...surrounded by a hundred friends 9 hours from home...spent night before on a motocross track w more balloons than even I could do. 2 of those friends hung all night at my car, and were soon taken from us in random strange accidents. Thanks for the memories.

The second song I ever saw the Dead play live. :) What a wonderful day that was -- life changing, if I must say.

One of my favorite places for a show, huge field in the middle of no where. If I remember correctly it was hotter than hell this day and when we got into the back parking lot, finally after what seemed like hours, the engine in the microbus was so hot when we opened up the door to keep it cool the joke was we could make grilled cheese sandwiches on it with a special motor oil flavor and get rich.
