This is one of my favorite Scar's because Jerry is really exuberant. you can hear it in his voice and see it in his wry smiles and light steps. And his solos are so pure and beautiful. he's the only player that can hit the strings of my soul so consistently. The notes, the tone. Just playing over the changes, but such a pure tap to emotion....It's hard to put into words. I resisted this band for so long, but eventually I came home.

not sure why this has so few views - this Scarlet->Fire is only two weeks short of 5/8/77 and you get HQ video of the band (especially Jer Bear) ripping the whole way through. There are two distinct and pretty sweet themes Jerry lands on in the Scarlet jam that Donna unfortunately sings over snapping them out of the magical trance and they abruptly segue into Fire, but HOLY SHIT Jerry's outro solo on Fire is amazing... that run at about 17:08!!!.... Yes Jerry flubs the lyrics in Fire but none of us are here for the words are we? Long live the Bean!

I agree, why? But then I discovered I had not watched this, so I immediately 'liked' it. You're welcome.

This was a good year for some shows. I appreciate you reminding me of what I had a bit of trouble with when I was growing up

I knew these guys and some one always throws shade Donna but she got Jerry vibes,You ever go to any shows and you probably ever took LSD your negative energy made me write this at 5am back off

@@stephentmarksberry4484 not trying to throw shade on Donna - love her and am an ardent defender of the Donna era - but there are times when her vocal soloing doesn't mesh well with the rest of the band and this is one of them... it's possible to be critical and love them at the same time. I noticed you didn't take offense to my criticism of Jerry's lyrical flubs?

Know my favorite version? One I heard most recently. Many of their songs are like that.

I saw them at Barton Hall a few weeks later. This was a pretty good run.

Very carefree, informal and lovely version of these songs. Miss this type of music. Never got to see them live in Norway, unfortunately….

kind of sleepy, but an aLL around fantastic rendition we've captured of the Dead playing in seventy-seven! This should be mandatory viewing for anyone even remotely interested in their history. Jerry, Bob, Donna, everyone seems to be so into the music. Displaying huge energy and vivacious collaborative elements. The 25th is probably my favorite of the taped three night run at the Cap. Although, we have the whole 27th performance up on Hazard's channel. I couldn't love this anymore, but sometimes you just gotta listen to Cornell...
