"From the final show of the Summer Tour of 1987, the last Dylan & The Dead show, this mighty version of West L.A. Fadeaway shows why it was such a popular Jerry first set song. Debuted in August 1982, this In The Dark standout was always well-received by the fans when it was played." - David Lemieux

Ok tune. Probably their best live version of it. Lyrically unusual Dead tune and musically as well. Both harder edge and music riff that is very repetitive. Not many Dead tunes where they are referencing the mob and try rhyming with copacetic. Its a challenge. Better tunes of InTheDark for sure.

I was 16 in 1987 and accidentally ended up at a Dead Show in New Jersey. Took acid on the floor before the show and the journey continues! I will be Forever Grateful! Most of my artistic inspirations and interests hail from my years with the Dead. Too many adventures to name. The path is infinite........ Miss you Jerry!
