There was a post on tumblr about the costumes on cxgf. When nathaniel and rebecca were together they both wore something purple/magenta. When rebecca left nathaniel she stopped wearing magenta. Also nathaniel told maya that she looks good in magenta, which is a slight nod to the fact that he sees her as Rebecca.

I loved everything so much from this episode. From the Tim devil wears prada's arc, to Maya's random quote "I never had a real mom just a dead mom" in the funny montage, the double blankets moment or how both Paula and Jim have absolutely no other characteristic than bringing essential random information for the plot. There's so many incredible details, jokes and satire in one episode. It was so amazing and inventive.

I'm such a Hallmarkie/Rom-Com person that the laughed at how engaged and sucked into the "rom-com" that despite it being an absolutely HILARIOUSLY accurate and brilliantly parodic homage to the genre (which I FULLY appreciated) I forgot it was an episode for a minute! The part of the dream sequence with the storyboard at the house was so great, but the presentation at the end with the occasional one-word fade in and out was THE BEST! "Tree frogs!" 🤣 The end when he's coming out of it and realizes it's Rebecca was a perfect moment. I cried. Just one of the MANY great writing decisions on this show. God! I miss it!

Oh I'm sold on the ridiculously villainous Bert's song. Tim/Bert 's devil wears Prada story arc was absolutely everything they could have made a short song out of it. I think a duets dream sequences would have been probably too much since the whole plot is already Nathaniel's dream sequences. And I'm not sure giving Rebecca and Joanne a song would have make that much sense. Remember that it's a romcom. Nathaniel and Maya are supposed to bound and end up together not with their ex-girlfriend. It's most likely than in a romcom with that tro the ex-gilfriend would be completely insignificant with no backstories or character. Maybe they wouldn't even have a name and be titled "ex girlfriend 1" and "ex-girlfriend 2" in the credits. Not sure it would have fit the genre that much.

PineapplePrism so this is late but I’ll say, I think Josh shouldn’t have been in S4 at all Nathaniel should’ve gotten with Maya and overtime Rebecca should’ be learned to accept romance won’t fix everything. It feels like there was a lot of character regression and not Rebecca’s BPD as the reason but rather just an excuse for all main cast to stay. And the entire love square was kinda forced. She’s been over josh for a year now and I felt the men weren’t really the type to pull stuff like this even if they could be ridiculous at times
