The biggest scam is still actively occurring in the game and that is balance changes. New card gets introduced and it’s awful then receives a huge buff a couple days later. If you want to push ladder you have to have that card, forcing top players to shell out hundreds to max out a singular card just for it to be nerfed a month later. This happens with dormant cards to most recently barb hur more than likely forcing people to spend their resources/money on it

I’m a f2p player but I actually really enjoyed this update, apparently I’m alone. I was very close to becoming lvl 13 before this came and slash royale allowed me to get to maxed lvl and the addition of 14 made my main deck almost instantly lvl 14 as well. This had the desired effect for me, I got a massive boost in progress and was able to catch up to becoming a maxed player. This was like 9.5/10 update for me.

That’s what fucked up the game, It used to be a grind, like a huge grind to get max level, and the good players who had been playing since beta had the advantage which is how it should be. I spent 6 years straight playing that game since beta and that update made it possible for people who were 3 years in to max out their decks and level 9 players got ahold of the golden cards. then they took away my badges and it looks like i’m a basic player. I used to have the rarest badge in the game, which was the beta tester badge, which is now gone. I feel like I got scammed with that

Nope. The issue was, MOST PLAYERS were upgrading lower level cards, trying to get them to Level 13. So when Level 14 came out, Most Players had no gold or items left to upgrade. Supercell should've communicated better, no one saw Level 14 coming.

I used to play daily but pretty much quit after this update. It took me many years to 1. Find a deck I like and 2. Upgrade that deck to level 12. When slash started I upgraded some cards to level 13 for the first time and was optimistic about no longer having to face overleveled players, only to be put right back where I started. Additionally, me being king lvl 14, I only get paired with maxed players while I have level 12 cards, its not fun …

I mean, I think that they should have told people the day of slash royale that they were making TH 14, but I can accept it as an honest mistake to delay it until day 4. I think that they did pretty good at accommodating in the end by refunding (which we deserved) and the next 200k event (which was a nice bonus to apologize). I also think that the masteries also accommodated. I don't think this was malicious at all, they could have given us nothing at all (kinda like brawl stars did)

You can still be harsh to them, because I was one of those people upgrading everything and I wasn't maxed out on everything. I was maxed on 16 cards and it ass already hard leveling up when all you buy is the pass every month. Yes, I felt cheated and scammed and they really haven't done much as in giving back. I'm working hard to max out all my cards and at this rate it will take another year. Supercell does a great job of bringing in the money for themselves. Nice work again, and thanks for the video. It did hurt me a bit cause up until slash royale, I was pretty free to play, only bought the 1 season. I have as well played since global and I felt really good knowing even I made to legendary even with underleveled cards. Then more arenas got made and hog mountain was no longer legendary but I quickly made it back up. Personally, as much as it sucked, it didn't bother me too much since I really did only upgrade the cards I use and then again once we was refunded everything back so I was pretty well off Edit - ok so what's yall thoughts on lvl 15? What they were trying to do is what they do with the "Hammer Jam" in Clash of Clans, where the building time and cost is halved so you can get more progress before an update. It failed as it wasn't hinted that the announcement video never talked about that, whereas the first hammer jam teased that there was going to be a new town hall. Also they realized that CR and COC's economies are different, and just copying a update idea from one game to another doesn't work.

As a f2p player who played from the soft launch to about Clan Wars 1 who then picked the game back up in summer of 2022, all the changes overwhelmed me. Champion cards were fine and all and I didn’t really mind Clan Wars 2 besides the fact you can’t opt out and the matchmaking problems. However level 14 made the ladder virtually unplayable for me as someone with primarily level 12 cards. My “max” zap was no longer killing maxed goblins for example. Clan Wars really didn’t help me out with this imbalance either since some of my decks would have level 10 and 11 cards. About two weeks ago I quit again due to the lack of cards and especially gold due to me not playing Slash Royale. Glad other people despise level 14 as well even for different reasons.

I think supercell just made an oopsie or a bit miscalculation about slash royale. I stopped playing in 2017 but I came back a month before the event with the majority of my cards at lvl 8. And honestly this event really help me catch up. But still, I think they should have made this event after officially drop level 14 alongside with champions.

I quit playing the game because it just felt like there was too much I needed to do. Everytime I hit a new trophy count or arena, the meta changed and I had to try to upgrade new cards or make entirely different decks with underleveled cards. The slash royal event got me back into the game because I could finally have a bunch of cards at the proper level instead of only one deck that would become bad as soon I moved up the ladder. I know a lot of people got scammed, but for people like me, we finally got to have a decent selection of cards and play new decks without getting crushed by cards higher levels than ours

Tbh, I think they were trying to hype up the new update, and get people to be interested in the game before lv 14 and champions. It could have been a bit of a trick to get people to not instantly get to lv 14 with magic items, but I think if that was true they would have waited until after slash Royale, and not only 30% into it. Not to mention, it was only a couple fancy statistics people that figured out that it looses you resources to upgrade cards, they just spread it through the rest of the community through Reddit. It would not surprised if this was just a minor oversight.

Yeah, this makes sense but really it comes down to the level 14 itself being the problem. Leave _Slash Royale_ alone! Now, if they actually REPEAT the event this year, I think the community will seriously forgive them and be thankful… as long as it doesn’t come with another level. Don’t add another (final) level 15 before a long, long time, please. It would be MATHEMATICALLY nice for every card rarity to work in increments of 3, and the max level + tournament standard would both be divisible by 3… plus there would be 15 levels and 15 arenas, kinda like the 13 from the past. They’ll probably have champions start at 12 (so everything about champions would just move up by 1)… but please, not before a long time. Keep giving us home without taking it away from us!

yeah the lvl 14 update basically led me to quit. I was a proud f2p who joined within a few months after launch in 2016. just felt like a punch in the face spending almost 5 years to max out 2-3 decks or close to it, and then just having to start over almost to get a max deck. the pay to play aspect via this and clan wars 2 just ruined the game for me. I also felt they had too many cards after a while, but thats more opinion. I really enjoyed my time in this game, and it's sad it's all in vain in the end other than the fun times I had in the moment
