I had one in college back in 1980. 1976 Elite, white / tan, 351W. Man, that was a cruisin' car. Burned up I-20 between Columbia, SC and Atlanta in those days. Once had 16 people in it! Going rafting and dropped off a car at the pickup point, then drove with 16 people and floats on the top back to the in-point. Good times. Wouldn't mind another one but I'd have to do stronger under the hood.

This is my first time seeing a Ford Elite with the automatic shifter on the floor, because I'm used to seeing it on the steering column.

My Dad once owned a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Elite back in the late 1970's, the car was silver with a full black vinyl top, he installed a set of slotted rims, and ended jacking the car up in the back with a set of air shocks.

I had a 74 ….they where called Gran Torino Elite in 74…. 75 and 76 dropped the Torino name to just Elite…mine was a 351 Windsor….it was a very quiet comfortable car…never had any problems with it.

Had a Brown on Brown Elite. Really good looking especially since I had wheels close to these. Wasn’t super fast but what a cool car to just cruise around in.

My mom had one of these when I was growing up. Black on black with a 460 under the hood. For a kid the inside of that car was cavernous lol. My dad took it in for servicing at the car dealership he worked at and had them run it through the car wash there afterwards, some kind of hardware malfunction in the car wash resulted in the car being totaled by the insurance company. Sucks too because I really liked that car.

Damn. My mom had one of these in the 80’s. Finally got rid of it in ‘93. Lol my sisters used to hate to be driven in this. Damn car was still running when she got rid of it. Proof, kids don’t know shit. Ha ha

JP...I agree. Cars of that gen were passed over from the 90s through the 2000s. I would love to have one of these and drop in a tuned 460. Seen plenty of Mustangs, Nova's and Chevelle's, wouldn't mind rolling up to the car meet in one of these.
