Graves Fender Eliminator Install on a 2015 YZF-R3 from SportbikeTrackGear.com

Just picked up my R3 from K&W today and upon bringing it home promptly installed the Graves fender eliminator and slip on. I watched this video yesterday and thanks to it I did not need to read the instructions. Great video.

That is a SERIOUSLY huge fender...I wonder if it's for rear-ender protection. Kinda like a crumple zone. Nice install, looking forward to more. I'm planning to get a R3, these videos will be a great help for me in the future. Thumbs up on the level of details and the camera works :) Thanks.

I plan on buying this as my first bike because out of the legal bikes here in Australia the R3 has the best all round stuff, then after I can buy anything bigger I hopefully will move onto a Ducati XDiavel for cruising and around comfort

Sportbike Track Gear I didn't know you were in Michigan. I love your videos. I have the exact same bike! As far as I can tell integrated turn signals/brake lights are legal in Michigan. Do you know if this is true? That would be my route with this or the vagabond eliminator kit. Along with integrated flush mount front led turn signals!

Looks better! I put a Vagabond on my R3. I prefer it over this model because it reuses the plate light as well, and it has no visible bolt heads under the seat to corrode. The bolt posts are welded into the bracket.

warlok9 It looks like you have to modify the turn signals with that one, Graves offers a direct stock bolt on. Myself I would go with the Graves. - Van

Sportbike Track Gear Actually, the only mod is the removal of the bouncy rubber thingys from the stock signals, which everyone complains about anyway. It's easily reversible. Honestly, it would be a toss up between the two if it weren't for the omission of the plate light, which is required by law in PA.

There is a difference though. Vagabond uses the license plate light from the fender. Yoshimura have led lights to replace what was on the bike. I'm surprised you didn't use one of these instead of going cheap with the Graves.

D. Paul League We will install more than one brand, the idea is to show you all what it takes to install it and the difference between them. That said Graves is a top level brand, always has been and always will be. Never heard of vagabond before this. We will be doing a Yoshimura kit soon. - Van

Not liking the turn signal wires exposed to the kicked up road debris from the tire.... Vagabond does a way better job tucking away wires and is more solid all while looking awesome for 69 bucks, In my humble opinion .

This Video was really hopeful but the blinker plugs were not the same on my bike each blinker had a wire that split into 2 with weird metal plugs 1 from each blinker went into a metal clip for power then the other plug on each blinker went onto its own signal wire so lucky it was still simple

+J2THEROC69 Technically yes you do, still many riders will eliminate them as it cleans up the look quite a bit. On this bike if you look at the position of the tail light and the plate you will see the plate will be illuminated by the taillight which would make the plate light a non-issue. - Van

WOW! Nice job on the install. Have you noticed that some manufacturers give you a cleaner factory option? Some of those fenders, you remove the three or four screws holding the fender/tail light assembly under the seat and they have the MATCHING 3 or 4 screws holding the fender to the tail light/plate assembly. You're simply shortening the tail by removing the stem. NICE design idea. //// I have to disagree with your comment about how everything was 'a nice tight design' referring to how they packed the CRAP out of the electronics under the seat! Regulator/rectifier, which gets HOT, right next to all that wiring?! not to mention that the connector for the regulator/rectifier is right up against the heat sink. THAT'S why they fail, RIGHT THERE! The heat melts the connector and burns the wiring and guess what you're buying real soon. At least SOME reg/recs have about 6 inches of wire coming out from them and THEN the plastic connector which is routed away from the heat sink. I'm sorry but all manufacturers are guilty these days of packing the reg/rec in tight like that when that component above all of them needs to BREATH. That goes, then the battery, then if you're REALLY lucky the stator! Then we're talking MONEY.

why do you have gigantic Orange indicators on R3's in America? in the UK we don't need red reflectors one the side, not do we need Orange at the back. we can have clear led lenses with orange lights it's the opposite. in America your side reflectors are red and your required to have them whilst in Britain they are Orange and we don't need them. in America your rear reflectors are Orange whilst ours are red and we don't need them on bikes, but on cars. that's why you see in the UK, bikes with just a plate, and single, clear rear lights that both have rear lights and orange indicators built in, like on the R6 or R125, even though the R125 comes with indicators attached to the plate like on your R3, but they are clear, and so is the rear light. we can have red rear and orange indicator lights, but they are no longer a requirement. you will see most British cars today with red rear lights as standard on the back, but clear indicator lenses. cars like the Aston Martin DBS is a good example as all lights on the back have clear lenses
