@trfaison6 жыл бұрын
I didn't get that the Night King is afraid of John. I considered his actions to convey to John "No matter what you do, whatever victory you believe you scrape, I am stronger". He stares John down coolly at HardHome before raising a dead army like "See this ish Mofo! Now, run tell that!" The Night King is waging psychological warfare tearing apart the world of men. The show is making John more important than Bran for the audience

"When the snow falls and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives". We are supposed to think this means that the Starks have to stick together in order to survive, but I think it should be taken more literally. One of them has to die for the "pack" to survive. My money is on the last hero not defeating the Night King, but going up and becoming one of them/a new Night King. That is why they don't try to kill Jon. 1. he is already dead. 2. he will have to retreat north into the land of always winter with the white walkers at the end.

@mikeburke70536 жыл бұрын
The changes in the show to the prologue were for 3 reasons: 1) In the show he is left alive because he is supposed to tell the world about the symbol he saw in the snow. Tell Them! 2) Ned executing Will, foreshadows his own death. 3) In the books Will is William Shakespeare. In the show when he is executed, it is a symbolic execution. Shakespeare is now being executed by Richard of York. As the House of York (Edward IV, Edward V, George Plantagenet, and Richard III) watch solemnly. History are the lies the victors taught us. Shakespeare are the lies of House Tudor. George and D and D are now giving us the Wars of the Roses with Yorks as heroes, not villains.

My theory is the Night King is a green-seer, he's seen his undoing being Azor Ahai & he happens to be a Stark which is why he killed Weymar & also tried to kill Jon. But he didn't kill Jon & hes had many opportunities to do so.. I think he realised Jon might be Azor Ahai, but Bran is the key. Once he realised who Bran was & what he could do, I think that became his new target because the Night King physically hasn't attacked anybody else in the show other than Bran... He knows that Bran is his undoing & that he is the real threat, not Jon
@fleachamberlain19056 жыл бұрын
Staring at John, but trying to kill Bran could simply indicate, among other things, that they want/need John and that they think/know Bran can prevent them getting him.
@azarialr66396 жыл бұрын
This may be addressed in part two but, the reason I think they send wights and not Others for Jon, and don’t try to go after him like Waymar and Bran is because they think he’s a bastard. I don’t know why that matters to them, but Craster cared about it, and dismissed him the second he found out, it also ties in with Tyrion saying to wear it like armour and could be why Rheagar and Lyanna being married matters. I have no theory as to why, wish I did, but there are lots of book hints for this being important.

Why then do the white walkers basically ignore Jon when he is there north of the wall and instead clearly demonstrate that they were really after the dragon? They had Jon right there (and a guy with a flaming sword). With their ability to bring the cold they could have frozen that lake quite easily and if the white walkers themselves had come for the seven it would have been over.

Ok Gray, here's what I think. It's a "Santa Clause" situation. For you youngsters, this is a movie with Tim Allen where when Santa dies, his killer automatically becomes his successor. So, I think Jon Snow is NK's successor and that's why The Others are always looking for him. Bran, with his (faulty) knowledge presents an obstacle but NK isn't trying to kill him either, he's trying to convey a message but they speak different languages.

Good suggestion, GrayArea. Storm's End is a good place to start a campaign of conquest. No-one could take it from the Golden Company (in books or on TV). It is on the kingsroad. Bronzegate, seat of House Buckler, a castle supported by several small towns, is all that stands between it and King's Landing. The Golden Company has broken its contract with Myr, they can break one with Cersei too. The Golden Company have been looking for a good time to go back home. This is a good time.

Hello to my sweet summer mama ..I have an LML inspired theory about the Azor Ahai that might sounds interesting ..What if AA was the Bloodstone Emperor and Nissa Nissa was the Amethyst Empress ? his sister/wife? ...The Bloodstone Emperor is the guy that created the Long Night by killing the Amethyst Empress and takes her power and was worshiped as god ...AA also is the guy that killed his wife NN supposedly for to receive the Lightbringer so that she cried with some much ecstasy and anguish that cracked the moon and is worshiped as a god by the Red Priests..What if those two different legends are describing the same person? ..That cracking of the moon may have caused the Long Night according to LML and AA to is nothing else but the man that brings the Long Night witch means he is not the ''savior''[as the Red Priests manipulate people to believe]but the bad guy of the story..In our story only one character can fit for this AA/Bloodstone Emperor bad guy..Euron in the books.[maybe show?]...Euron book as the AA/Bloodstone Emperor wants to kill his pregnant mistress /wife in a mass sacrifice for to woke up the magical creatures of the sea , to be bring the Long Night and to be worshiped as a god also ..Aeron especially has very prophetic nightmare about that in the Forsaken Chapter seeing him victorious and as a monstrous Kraken sitting on the Iron Throne [with bones around and the 7 gods dead around ]and he there on his side had a woman with pale fire[ice or wildfire] on her hands and naked women and dwarfs around to dancing ,singing and serve him and his creepy bride[The Night Queen /Ice[books] or Cercei/Wildfire[show] or even Mellisandre]..What if that describes actually the Bloodstone Emperor /AA/Euron after the killing of his pregnant -innocent wife /nissa nissa/Amethyst Empress for to bring the Long Night ?Do you will make a video on this one day?Im not convinced that AA was a hero after all..Davos book says to Stannis there that real heroes are sacrificing themselves and not their beloved peoples for to do what they have to do to save the world .I believe it too ..There is some harsh but honest truth in those wise words ..He speaks harshly but truly .

I agree with Gray with the black ripples. Also there are several people who can and do identify Valaryan swords on sight. And on top of that, on the show when Jon fought a wight at hardholme, when it's ice-sword clashed with Long Claw and Long Claw did not shatter, the wight looked at it in surprise and then Jon shattered the wight with Long Claw. I don't think the others in the books were looking for a flaming sword, but one made of Dragon steel.

The White Walkers are looking for Bran. At the beginning of the story, middle, and end. Bran could change the past, present, and the future--he poses the biggest threat. The White Walkers are powerful magical beings which make mortal humans pesky irritants at the very least. Only someone or something that could change history and wipe them out altogether is a serious threat. Perhaps dragons, but we have seen what they can do to dragons. Bran is the only Stark that we know that can warg into humans. The White Walkers are looking for the sword, yes and a man--possibly Bran who had warg'd into someone else. Bran is the prince who was promised, old Nan called him a little prince. Bran can warg into anyone and "draw a burning sword from the fire and that sword shall be Lightbringer." If they wanted, Jon as he is today, they had their chance and they didn't take it, they set a trap for a dragon to breach the Wall (which makes me believe the Night King is R'hlor and sees everything and sends messages in the fire)--and go after Bran before he gets total recall! Bran has now been touched and has the mark and now the Night King can track him. It has always been about Bran.

Interesting discussion. Indeed the White Walkers thought Weymar was a potential Azor Ahai, looked at his blade and so forth. Everyone makes mistakes, i dig that ! Except i think the NK outsmarts them all and is aware of 2 potential threats: Bran, the 3 eyed raven who will probably find ways to win the end game at the Isle Of Faces, but also Jon who'll benefit from Bran's visions at the time more consistent and unfragmented to kick the NK's ass 4 good.

You might be on to something. I've been wondering for a long time exactly what the Night King wants. Through everything, he never kills John, but if you follow the timeline of the Night King coming back after the 8000 Years, it fits right in with Bran's birth and most importantly, him falling from the tower. Jon isn't what NK wants, Jon is his doorway to Bran. NK followed Bran beyond the wall, and once Bran made it back past the wall, NK went for the wall. I am also not sure NK wants to kill Bran either, but that he needs something that only Bran can help him with, and at that, at Winterfell. "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell" also has something to do with it, and I think the Starks have forgotten what it is, even though the saying wasn't forgotten. Remeber also, NK knows what Bran looks like and who he is. Long story short, NK wants Bran, at Winterfell, is using Jon to get there, and needs Bran's help. My best guess is NK will survive everything, but not in his current form, Bran will use his sight to go back and see/help NK with what he wants and perhaps "heal/Cure" NK from what he has become

Great video guys, I’ve drawn that very distinction as you two. I believe that the Night King has knowledge of Bran because of his connection with The Three eyed Raven and that makes him a threat having Green Seer abilities and the connection to the same magic. I believe Jon is a curve ball. The Night King never expressed fear or concern in his encounters with Jon, he even had several opportunities to kill him. In The Three Eyed Ravens Cave The Night King was desperate to Kill Bran. The Night King seemed impressed by Jon like “Oh he’s not your average man”. Jon’s lineage is the best kept secret in Westeros maybe his purpose is as well because only Melisandre and whatever Benjin has become knows he’s special

In my opinion the Others learn from Craster that Waymar and Jon are north of the wall. When Bran gets there, Craster is already dead, so they don't know; otherwise they had attackt him earlier (I guess they observe Bloodravens cave). The meeting in Hardhome (wich not happens in the books) is only by accedent, the NK came there to fill up his ranks, cause there are thousends of people he can easily turn.

Before they killed Royce they had arranged heads in a circle to represent the isle of faces and then they nailed the child to the tree-- I noticed they nailed the child to the tree in the same way that the children created the night King pinned on the tree. I think translating these messages are key to figuring out what the white walkers want! I think they were referencing the isle of faces and also intentionally pinned the child to the tree to reference the children of the forest creating the night King I think they were trying to communicate something to the men. And also the white walker wasn't wearing armor! What does that mean?
@GrayArea6 жыл бұрын
slphillips1986 first off, great catch with how the girl was nailed to the tree. I also like the isle of faces theory. Nex (Game of theories) did a video on the heads meaning the isle of faces! And I really like that idea! The armor was probably more of a budget thing. In the books they always were a reflective camouflage armor.

Hey Gray! Big issue I see with your theory they are looking for a Stark in general, meaning possibly Bran instead of Jon, is that Bran does not look like a Stark. They are very explicit in the book that he takes after his mom and has the Tully coloring. He has thick auburn hair and the deep blue eyes of the Tullys. So if they were after Bran they would have to know he is a Stark without knowing what he looks like and just be guessing (doesn't make much sense once even a single wight has seen him though). I think its clear they are after Jon's description though.
@GrayArea6 жыл бұрын
CL C Exactly! Bran doesn’t look like a Stark even tho he is one! and that is their error! they are looking for a certain type of person, They know what Starks look like.. but the Stark they want.. doesn’t look like one. But they don’t know that.

The wights can remember. Vengeful spirits, only killing left. The Others are most definitely targetting Starks. If we take the show version where Benjen is stabbed in the gut by a sword of ice, then if this encounter happened it verifies the Others' Stark hunting. Benjen is most definitely an important Stark. And if he is Coldhands even more important. Bran is probably the most important Stark but we dont know the end roles..
