I've literally watched a dozen videos trying to get this damn thing lit. Yours is the first that actually showed what to do beyond pressing the pilot knob, and you did it without a 22 minute intro! I was trying to light the wrong place, based on terrible instructions in other videos. Your video had me follow the correct line, and everything went fine after that. You have instantly made my life better, and my wife happier. Thank you!

Extremely helpful video. I was jamming a lighter into the holes where the air intake is. Apparently I'm one of those people that thought if I got a lighter in there and waved it around while holding the button down it would magically work. But that's not how it works... you actually have to get the lighter near this piece of metal where the gas comes out.

Just moved into a new home and it's my first time with a gas furnace. The furnace sticker instructions had all the steps for relighting a pilot except the fact you have to hold the button down when lighting. Thanks. Warm again.

I have a very old Lennox furnace, however it still works. Today, I lowered thermostat and pilot went out. I have these options: ON, OFF, PILOT & SET...should I put it in Pilot or set to light pilot?
@grayfurnaceman2 жыл бұрын
I can't say I have ever seen "set" on a gas valve chain. However, I would think set would be the setting. Then there should be a button on the gas pipe chain that can be depressed. Depress and light the pilot, hold the button down for i minute and let up. If the pilot stays on, turn to on. The unit should operate. If you are still having problems, send me pics to Grayfurnaceman@gmail.com GFM

My furnace has an automatic lighting system. I found the on/off button, but it's stationary. However, there is a slit between ON and off, and two toggle switches are in that slit. If you know what I'm referring to, how do I turn the furnace off? Do both toggle switches get flipped to the off position? In the instructions, the toggle switch is called gas control switch, and the instructions State to move the gas control switch or knob to OFF. How do I know which one to move, if I move just one, or do I move both? The rest of the instructions State to wait five minutes after I turn the switch to OFF, turn the switch to the ON position, replace the access panel, turn the electric back on to the furnace, set the thermostat, and the furnace should kick on.
