NZ are known for their fielding and brendon mccullum was unbelievable at times, probably one of the most athletic fielders New Zealand has had and he was the mastermind behind the super aggressive test-like field sets in limited overs cricket in recent times by NZ. Also Martin Guptill is up there with Jadeja regarded as one of the best (if not the best) fielders in the world

They had to have great fielding for such a long time cs their batting and bowling was average compared to the top teams. Same went for Zimbabwe back in the day but they couldn’t bat or bowl at all really

Something to keep in mind about Mccullum is that he was a very good first five-eighth in Rugby at high-school, theres a story of him keeping the NZ All Blacks legend Dan Carter on the bench when they played in a team together. This is where he gets his speed and athleticism.

My memory stretches beyond recent bias. I have seen them all including Jonty, but no one, and I mean no one comes close to Rhodesian, South African fielder Colin Bland. He was as quick as Jonty in the infield and majestic in the outfield. They would have him patrol the whole of the leg side by himself. At 6ft I inch, he had a rocket arm which combined with a deadly accuracy. He could hit one stump as often as not from 60 yards. He was also a very fine clean hitting number five or six and his batting has always been underrated because of his fielding ability. Nick and Gabe. If you can find any footage of him, I urge you to show it. That sort of ability is a thrill to see.

Best fields are put in certain positions. Faf is either in the covers, slips or mid on. I fields at square leg for years because I was fast and could cover most of the legside on my own while most of the team was on the offside.

You guys should definitely check out Brendon McCallum (former NZ captain). Explosive batsman, phenomenal fielder and wicket keeper. His intent and commitment to everything is always sky high. He was the first person and the only person to score a 150 in the inaugural IPL.

South Africa used be the best fielding team for so many years, but now all the other teams are catching up to the same level that South Africa used to be. As far as I could remember, it all started with Jhonty Rhodes, where he would save up to 20 to 40 runs a match and those runs were very crucial when it come to do or die kind of matches!

It’s easy to have 3 slips and a gully in t20 if you have a huge score on the board, new ball moving around and you’ve taken early wickets. It won’t last long if the other team counterattacks effectively

The second guy in the video now plays for America. Now there's something for you guys to looks forward to. Also there is something called bowling to the field. If you have just 6 fielders left after slips and gully, you place them in such a way and bowl in such a way that the batsmen always his towards them. They need to take a risk and not play a conventional shot in order to pierce the gaps

Both times it was McCullum. He has stopped the ball from getting to the boundary line many times. He speed while chasing the ball is just unbelievable.

The key to catching a fast cricket ball is having soft relaxed hands with amazing reactions. The soft hands absorb the sting & velocity out of the ball, the reaction time then closes the fingers around the ball. honesty it the key soft relaxed hands. This is why cricketers drop easy catches when under pressure; they snatch at the ball, instead of cushioning it. Oh and best fielder I've ever seen in my time, watching since the 1980's is Jonty Rhodes. A man who changed and evolved cricket fielding.
