After the Italian occupation the Emperor worked day and night for our country’s economic and educational development. What he got in return from the Ethiopian people is nothing but betrayal. I didn't see this interview until recently. I am glad you are alive. You need to understand that many young Ethiopian died during that time. You are lucky to be out safely. So many Ethiopian people have suffered physically and mentally. Stay strong and plan ahead. You can achieve anything. Remember, 1) you aren't responsible about what happened in Ethiopia. 2) you should be proud about who you are and where you came from. 3) your grandfather had done many good things in Ethiopia. He had bad advisers and ministers who did disservice to him and his administration. He loved his country and people. 4) don't believe all you hear and read. Do your own investigation. There is too much politics to it. There was also envy and misunderstandings. Majority was race related politics and hate from Areb countries and Egypt, Libya, and some others. There was also some ethnic groups roles. There were complex issues in Ethiopia. Still, there are. 5) your grandfather had ruled Ethiopia peacefully and respectfully. Don't be bitter. Ethiopia loves its sons and daughters forever. You are Ethiopian.

The worst bit is when the interviewer suggests that the US might decide not to renew their visas after 2years! It looks like they hadn't really considered that possibility, and the coldness of the interviewer suggested that might well be the case! I trust it was not however, as I know a great many Ethiopians settled in the US. The suffering endured by these young siblings then, are synonymous with what many ordinary citizens went trough . The regime was an equal opportunity aggressor . True that!!!was also I met an African American lady in Atlanta few years ago, we spoke generally of history and the conversation ended up about Ethiopia because I told her I did volunteer work across there!!! and she was surprised that I travelled to the East! I remember she told me she did a DNA test and found out she has Ethiopian ancestry!!!!I was surprised at first because she did look like a Nigerian woman, she told me she thought she was West African but found out she has Eastern Heritage hahah, lol, sometimes a person look can throw u off!!!but I should not be surprised because historically speaking the white man his first encounter in the East Africa Indian ocean before making his journey to west, and clumping us all on one ship like sardines u have different ethnic groups of African, the darkskin south indians ( Elamite/Dravidian SEMETIC Akkadian/ Sumerian groups) were also taken in ships too that's why when I see my people in the Caribbean they also have the look like mixed habesha Ethiopian/ india! The sons and daughters of SHEM of ELAM, JUDAH, BENE EPHRAIM, MANASSAS the sons and daughters of the diaspora is in the mix....history needs the be rewritten and the white man is not gonna tell ya all the details of who u are and where u come from, we are not all West Africans!!
