Just finished watching "What tools do you need to start woodworking" then watched this one. I didn't get a chance to see all the Great Guitar Build Off videos last year but relaxing enjoying some today. I wish I had a mentor like you when I was starting in woodworking 50 years ago. Your method of describing things is very understandable and your processes are very methodical. I enjoyed watching you learn while undertaking the guitar build (specifically the veneer, and plugging and re-drilling the output jack - like I had to LOL) as I myself have had a baptism by fire in the last few years - having woodworking experience but not as much guitar building. I am finally making guitars I enjoy playing but it has taken a while. I cheered as you completed the electronics and they worked, and clapped as you played the guitar through the different pickup positions. I would definitely ROCK the sunburst guitar you built. I am glad there are people out there like you, Ben at Crimson, Matt and Chris at Texas Toast and so many others that are willing to share their knowledge and spend the time to bring great information and entertainment to a world hungry for a way to spend productive time. Thank you so much!!

For what it’s worth, my ranking in terms of preference to own personally… Guns N Guitars - that headstock!! And nice wave! …tied with 3x3 Custom - super clean straightforward build. Nice shape and top! Crimson - outlandish awesome, but I’d never go on stage with it. Texas Toast - amazing look, but breaks your back. Know Your Gear - ? haven’t seen final, but I like the PRS shape and expect a great finish Big D - I don’t do Teles, nice finish, but I’m not into chevron flames either. Angove - popping grain!, but shape hmm. And pickguards don’t connect smoothly. Diresta - maybe with a smooth gloss finish and the original burnt look underneath. How heavy is that thing anyways?

FWIW: I LIKED the asymmetry in the veneer. Given the body, shape it worked and was visually interesting. However, for future experiments, you might consider getting together a collection of touch up pens or cans of stain that are pigmented in close approximation to your collection of raw woods. Using a piece of 1/4" birch or other white plywood, you can lay out your notions, score them in using a utility or hobby knife (do stop bleed through of the pigment) and work several different samples without committing your veneer stocks. You can also use the same technique to brainstorm marquetry ideas (should you be so inclined), again without committing your precious wood stocks. Great job - I would be proud & happy to have produced something of that quality. VERY well done! ALSO... best demo I have seen to date. Same riff/same chord across all the settings vs. a different riff or improv in each setting "cuz it sounds cooler." Listened to each setting a couple times and was able to compare apples and apples (I already KNOW the diff between a tele-twang finger riff and a hard picked neck/high gain rip) What you did is EXACTLY what I do when trying out a guitar (then I act the fool and try to play stuff WAAAAY over my head, but whatcha gonna do??)

Hello Tamar, I'm brand new to your Channel. You made an amazing Guitar! I already love your Channel, it's great, and you're a pleasure to watch. Thank you Tamar for including your mistake -that's so honest and 'Big' of you. It's refreshing to see an expert Builder show that they are also human. We all make the mistake, contemplate the fix, and move on. You showed the mistake (now someone may avoid doing that), showed your grief, showed the correct repair solution -very important, and then showed the end result; beautiful! The satisfaction of doing it right outweighs the effort of the repair. Thank you for showcasing your humanness, it makes for a more informative video. It also shows that you care about your work, and inspires your viewers to do the same. Good luck with the Contest Tamar! ...BTW; yours is my favorite -the triple was nice & took a lot of work, but more isn't always better.

I love natural wood guitars over stained and painted and and what you built is amazing the colours and choices of woods on the top are sublime. As for your accident you were a true professional you just fixed it and made it look easy so we could all learn. You're a true master

Really nice looking result! And I actually love the "bodged veneer" part of the video; that kind of mistake and your reaction to it is so human and relatable. I think a lot of youtubers wouldn't have shown that but rather just put in some note when editing, along the lines of "at this point I noticed I'd mixed up two of the veneer pieces, so I routed them off and glued on some new ones, no worries!".
