Just discovering your videos. I've seen many professional in-car videos, but your's just show the speed and delicate balance between control and the loss of it, not to mention the increase in both, with your lightening gasoline load as the race wears on, and your tires wearing down too! Those older sports cars really move! I used to race ten speed bicycles (when they just had ten or 12 speeds), I know I'll never do this, but you're videos are so fun to watch! And add your music of choice, (which i have at my side in these trying times, and it's heaven! Maybe I'll get into sim racing, why not? All the pros are doing it now on TV, yuk, yuk.

I lived on Main Street in Watkins Glen for about a year after graduating from RIT in the early 1990’s. When IMSA was in town, I went up and hung around during practice - it was amazing to get close to the cars without the pressure of competition. The town of WG also has a historic trail marking out the original track which was fun to ride my mountain bike on. Such a beautiful place and track.....

Its 2024 and I still come back here every now and then to see you drive this thing like a demon! Also the intake on the reverse camera makes it look like a bonnet cam, making it look like the car is reversing around track at high speeds. My brain knows its not but I keep seeing it that way anyways 😂 Hope you are still racing! Stay safe dude

I love this course. I'm not incredibly good at it in any of the sims I play, but it's still a fun track to wheel around. You hook the carousel so well, man, you had to make up a tenth and a half every time through there. Looks like the black car figured it out after about 3 laps. You cleaned up T1 around that same time though, you started looking a little quicker through there each lap. 22:59 that was quite a bold move by the leader! He definitely wanted to hold the top position. Doesn't exactly seem like the "plays well with others" type either, he has a really aggressive style. the way you enter some corners a bit wide and pitch it in for a strong exit is something to be admired Idk what kind of telemetry is available from these cars but it'd be neat to have a diagram of the course you're running as well as your relative position on the course. I know the NASCAR corners and names at the Glen, but I don't really know the boot section that well. I realize this video is some 5 years old at this point, but I like watching people race to learn techniques and improve my own race craft, and just because I love the art and technique behind driving a race car. Excellent run on your part!

The right side kerb at the end of the chicane on PCars 2 is like driving on ice. Can't touch the gas on it. Wonder if it's like that for real...
@JReaLBiz864 жыл бұрын
@@ardbeg4mercy247 I usually see most cars take it nearly wide open, so I don't think it is. PC 2 has some issues with it's tire model that make driving more of a hassle than it actually is. I was hoping it would be a decent racing sim instead of a good racing game, but it seems to be more the latter

Nice job! Great position defense that last lap! Do the SRFs put down a meaningful amount of downforce at high speeds, like in the carrousel?
@Racer_X9 жыл бұрын
computiNATEor Hey Nate, no there is not significant downforce but there is some. For instance I generally pick up high speed understeer when I'm behind a car in a high speed corner like Turn 5 at WGI (the carousel I think you are referring to). We have limited downforce by design as we have limited HP. With more downforce, while we might pick up a couple of MPH in the corners, we'd lose at least that much on the straights I suspect. Thanks for watching and posting!

Is the steering effort as hard as it looks?
@Racer_X9 жыл бұрын
TheBravo Chimp Hey Chimp, absolutely not, though it all depends on how you set your caster in the car. I set mine in the medium range so there is some effort at low speeds but at speed it's minimal. The car is very light so power assist isn't required. Thanks for watching and posting!
