So much difference in steering input between 1st and 2nd lap. shows what tires at temp can do. That sound is highly addictive !!!
@Sturmovik19469 жыл бұрын
+Arno Modelstate fairly certain the tires were warm to begin with and that he was just testing/getting a feel for the car. But I might be wrong.
@eins20018 жыл бұрын
+Garrus Vakarian That's usually how test sessions go
@eins20018 жыл бұрын
+Arno Modelstate The tires would already be nice and toasty as they simply switched drivers and added fuel.
@ArnoModelstate8 жыл бұрын
+eins2001 If that is so then why does he steer excessively in the first time out like at 2:41 and when coming back the next round 4:25 he seems faster and more stable without the excessive steering. This get's heat into the tires also course they we're standing still in the pits or even muck. That's the difference I pointed out a year ago !
@eins20018 жыл бұрын
Tires don't cool down in the span of less than a minute. Also, when you take a car out for testing you don't push the car to the limit until you get an idea of how it handles, how the track feels, at what speed aerodynamics start to work, etc.

My Stoner Mind Yep, Assetto Corsa is pretty amazing. Graphicly it is way behind project cars but they have announced that they will develop new shaders and graphic effects until final release. But still, we have a long road to go until games are going to look like this. Mainly because of extremly high texture resolution.

The thing games will never reproduce is the fact that if you lose it you could be dead. So it will never be as good in that sense. Racing is fucking scary sometimes.

For $25 you can go to this track (I think everyday, but if I'm wrong its every weekend) and in any car you can take 3 laps around the track at a reasonable speed (60- 140 depending on the circumstances). I've done this with my father and his friends and its a blast. Great track and I cant wait till I can drive it next season.

Hey Jordan second to last lap was damn near perfect, a few small and I mean reallllly small and it was perfect. I saw a lot of early entry at first before the tires really got warm and then progressively better till the end. I noticed the same impatience I have at first and the same way you get over it after a few laps. If you watch this really close you can see where you can push it all the way like the second to last corner before the pits that's a section you can really take advantage of, you almost don't need the brakes if you know where its going to throw the car. The toe is tough but once you get enough momentum and if you have enough power you can really push through it and attack the competition on the straight before the next corner especially if they made a mistake then your golden (that's a tricky corner carry your speed. This is the challenge, it's hard on the brakes before an uphill corner). I'll see you out there some day and I'll find a way to win. Good luck.

Arno, I wondered about the same thing. It seems the first steering input was severe as if the car must be coaxed into changing directions. Odd!. I don;t think it is tire temp because the time between driver changes was minimal. But then I don't know.

***** and you get to keep your hands on the wheel, adding the confidence to throw the thing in and out of a corner. I just think NASCAR of all series' needs to keep a third pedal. they ride 4th all day anyway. I say make em kick the clutch going in and out of the pits and on the road courses.

josj15 well said. I agree completely. I road race with a dog legged 5 speed. i love it, heel toeing into corners, and grabbing gears down straights. It can't be matched. It would be ideal to see two feet, three pedal driving stay in big motorsport series' but i understand why it's mostly gone at the same time.

Daytona prototype racing is supposed to be a cheaper and easier series to get into when compared with the le man prototype cars. Theres LMP1 and LMP2 cars. The LMP1s are the fastest/top tier car in the le man series. The daytona prototypes are on par with LMP2 cars in performance but the DP cars are way more affordable. Its pretty much what would happen if you stuck a NASCAR engine in an LMP chassis.

+Ryan Hugger I can kind of hear what you're saying. When its pegged in 5th or 6th and the driver is just winding out the gear it kind of sounds V10ish, but that's just the exhaust layout, as soon as he backs off you can hear the burble and rumble of an OHV V8.
@eins20018 жыл бұрын
+Julian G Wait, OHV? They still use them?
@Shootrace8 жыл бұрын
+eins2001 Yeah these are old in terms of design. No monocoque on these cars for instance.
@JG542068 жыл бұрын
eins2001 Pretty sure that all Corvette racecars including the Daytona prototypes and customer cars come with some derivative of an LS based engine tuned for racing. Maybe someone who knows more about these spec racecars could shed some light? I can tell from the sound that it's definitely a cross plane V8 and I don't think any Corvette racecars have a DOHC V8.

there are four pistons that pop out of the bottom of the car that work as jack stands to lift the car up for tire changes , sometimes (i don't think here) race car transmissions have a air shifter that uses a pneumatic (air) piston to blast the transmission into the next gear super fast.
