Did you even know Downtown Houston had an underground tunnel system that connects all the Downtown buildings? It's a way to explore Houston, especially during those hot summer days.

I've lived in Houston my entire life and walked the tunnels a lot when I worked downtown. Now that I'm retired, I still like to go walking in the tunnels sometimes because, like the guy said in this video, the tunnels are like walking around in New York City, which I love the feeling of.

I remember back early 1980, going thru the tunnels. The entrance was by Woolworth, since I moved to south texas 20 years ago. I didn't think it exist.

how does someone live there their whole life and not know about the tunnels? it might be out of sight, but don't people learn about an iconic aspect of their own city? If I visited Huston even for a few days, I'm sure I'd find them on my own by accident.

Houston's such a big city, so people sometimes don't explore outside their neighborhood bubble. Since the tunnels are closed during the weekends, they're primarily used by office workers. Surprisingly, many Houstonians have never heard of the tunnels since they're not advertised, and almost all access points are in office buildings. Thanks for watching the video, we hope you get to see the tunnels in person one day!

I grew up there and didn't know about it for a long time, probably because my parents didn't want to pay for parking in downtown!

Where is the best place to park and the street and where is the most fun of all of the tunnels?
@borissavinkov440 Жыл бұрын
Sorry to disappoint you, but the Montreal tunnel system is much larger and more luxurious. It's also the oldest in North America. The Houston tunnel has a lot of fast food joints. Underground Montreal has lots of shops, and a subway system.

Who owns the underground businesses? So I can come take out a wall of the tunnel and build my own store underground?
