I have never watched or heard of chasing Bubbles so I will definitely watch it. The movie/documentary that motivated me to buy a sailboat was one called "600 days to Cocos Island" about a couple sailing from the Sea of Cortes Mexico to Cocos Island in the Pacific 100's of miles off the coast of Columbia South America. I think it was made in the 70's. Have you ever heard of it? I would watch it over and over while working out in the gym at my Fire station. My wife and I bought a 29 foot Columbia sloop in Homer Alaska and I did a complete rebuild on it. We sailed that boat along the coast of Alaska for 20 years for months at a time in the summer. Those were good times. Thanks for the video.

Nobody at age 22 _knows_ from years of experience what they love to do most. It's a skill that starts blooming after 'Mid Life' in their late 30s, being able to let go and sense greatness in 'what's left when all is lost', the hardest in Puritan culture that justifies it's existence by industry. That Alex Rust's second boat was almost a full keel is noted. Merry Christmas and thanks for being welcoming.

the documentary made me more concerned about mental health and coping by running away unecessarily, leading to tragedy than it did it motivating me wanting to sailing. There are so many distractions and escapes that 90% people chose instead of real life satisfying solutions. Which is usually, Community/family/purposeful career building. I'm torn. He seemed to be chased by demons, instead of facing them in a more corrective way.

Well Tim, I think you might be the second channel I came across and the first legitimate sailing channel. In my opinion I did watch sailing gbu. I think that was entry level and then came across your channel. You were still down in the Bahamas heading down heading back. It's been a few years but I've been watching since the very beginning. I can't say that sailing channels brought me to sailing. I had the boat first and I was doing lots of work on the boat but doing that work is what brought me To the sailing channels on KZbin and you were one of the first

#1 has been and always will be “Summer Rental”! John Candy is king. Captain Ron is a close second.
@PyeGuySailing8 сағат бұрын
@@johnnywisconny I used to feel exactly the same way but as time moved on I found myself loading up Captn Ron more often than Summer rental. So I now lean to Captain Ron. But for the longest time Summer rental was king in my books. Such an iconic movie 🙂 John Candy is the GOAT

I'm redoing my post as I got confused between Durbeck boats and Hunter, I suppose because I lived at both locations where they were made in Florida. I agree, the Hunter isn't exactly a blue water boat although I do seem to remember Lady K Sailing liking one particular model. But back to the movie/ documentary, I love a good sea story, especially if there is a good ending and I can learn something. Can't wait to see it, already bookmarked it.
