This is where the importance 9 comes from it is the cycle of creation, as a season is 13 weeks so is a trimester which 3 creates a child, 3X13=39 weeks but also 3+1+3=7, number of days in a week, but most don't know that 40 days are at each end, first is the 40 day Embryonic stage and 40 days before your born your head was still pointing up, it is in the 3rd week that he heart beats for the first time, 3X7. The Dog Star Sirius known as the Rooster would rise with the Sun during the hottest days of summer for 40 days they called Canicula, after 40 days the Dog star rose as the Sun would set, The dog Star Sirius would drop below the horizon for 70 days before returning with the seasonal floods for 295 days 295+70=265\40=9.125 if we had 40 days in a months 9 a year but thats not why it's because of Mercury adding 3 days to the 37 day pole spin of our Sun that is 25 days at it's belly Tilted 7.25 degrees giving it a 19.5 year season 79 years in all which is the cycle of Mars but as I said Mercury is the Cause with it's 88 day year, 8+8=16=7 and and Every 7 Years Mercury make 7 equilateral triangles with 22 retrogrades, 22\7=3.142 closest you can get to Pi, Mercury does this 4 times a year and 4 times around the 88 constellations 88\4=22. 40 days is the retro days of Venus and 77 weeks between each 40 day retro, a week of weeks is behind the Sun (7X7) having 35 weeks on each side 35+35=70, 35 minutes is Dusk and 35 minutes is Dawn so twilight is 70 the Morning Star who is also the Dog star. and every 77 months both Mars and Venus meet in the same zodiac sign and does this 3 times must be that 70 day average retro of Mars that does on average every 707 days and you find it too with our year 365 or 3+6+5=14 which is 7+7 and the Zodiacal Month of 2160 years divided by 4, when we add the "NO" day the leap day we add 77 weeks of them 2160\4=540\7= 77.14 and every 19.5 years is the cycle of Jupiter and Saturn, Jupiter year is 11.86 or 11+86=97=16=7 and Saturn's 29.5 years equals 7 and every 7 years Uranus will move through a zodiac sign and all the main constellations are of 7 Do you really think 9 is more important then 7 with 3 one can make a triangle (777) 60 degrees It is Venus that creates a crescent shaped barge with the Sun it the center each time it moves from morning star to evening star first a week of weeks followed by 8 days each time a corkscrew movement to and from the Sun now She Goat, known also as the Boar and the Plough; plow, and the beard I call the Goatee hanging from the chin of the Pharaoh AND like the Moon Venus is in tide-locked with Earth and we see her "weeping Eye" inside of a pyramid shaped crater called Jeanne located @ like her retro number 40 degrees North Latitude 331 Longitude 3+3+1=7 Maybe I'll show more of the 7 hidden everywhere but this should be enough for now

@@luxinvictus9018 Keep it simple, square the circle or cube the sphere where the cube has 1,260 degrees, same number of days in a zodiacal month, 6 sides in all but no more then 3 seen at any given time, 6 edges on the outer 3 in the center 9 in all but most import is the 7 holding all 9 edges together and as 2160=9 but every 4 years we added a day, 2160\4=540 meaning 540 leaps added, dividing it by the number of days in the week you get 77 and that be the number for you know who.

Joseph Campbell in one of his final lectures on the DVD Mythos 1 talks about the Eleusian Mysteries in terms of the symbolism depicted on the Pietroasa Bowl.This did indeed involve Demeter and Persephone, a (presumably symbolic) trip to the underworld, a depiction of a man (a god?) dressed as a woman and finally the Sun God Apollo (from memory), there were also representations of grain and poppies, indicating perhaps the use of psychedelics in the form of ergot and maybe opium. The lecture and the Bowl are both fascinating.

@@alanschaub147 Problem with .. Shintoism .. it really only works in .. Japan. Living in Florida urban city area is full of rapid random flux energy with high doses of negativity cause at the time I lived there, they were still doing nuclear bomb drills on a weekly bases. Didn't help that most of the churches were preaching the .. End Times .. non sense. What problem I had was I could not tell the difference between the living & ghosts/ spirits, so I ended up talking to people that were not there or ignoring living people. For the time being to keep from having another Baptist sermon and bull crap .. spiritual cleansing .. I learn to keep my mouth shut and I would not get paddled. By the time I was 12 I had a game in guesting what I was seeing/ hearing., by tossing a penny at the people in front of me and see if the coin bounce of them or not. A lot of people didn't think it was funny. And my mom was verbally abusive in trying to brain wash me that none of it was happening. By the time I was 13 I though I had some serious mental illness going on. Then a woman show up in my life standing close to seven foot calling herself, Boda. We didn't have Wicca books in my local book store till I was 15 back in 1992. So all my witchcraft studies were strait historic academic and mixed with what I learn from Samurai Reiki Ki flow mix with the four elements of Shaolin wushu. After a few months of setting up stone circles I though I was dealing with Angrboda the bringer of sorrows, wolf mother, and Loki wife. Or I was finally going nuts, then again everyone at my grand parents country wooded farmland house could see her, so I relaxed. Then Odin showed up when I was 14, without me summoning any of his lesser avatars. That didn't go over .. well. When I turn 15 and read a few books on Wicca and Riding on a Silver Broom Stick, I already knew everything in those books. My grand parents raised me in those traditions when I was in grade school. Well grandma was Scott/ macKenzie Great depression area farm girl. My grandpa was German Lutheran from a military family that kept Angrboda as their house spirit. I was raised with at lest a base of four .. practices, along with trying to create my own. When I drop out of high school when I turn 16, " family was self employed," my dad started to train me in hard ki Aikido Kenpo jujitsu in the snow, along with Sicilian boot leg boxing, and my granny was teaching me the .. finer points. So when in the spring I really went to open a circle along a samurai Shaolin theme, ... a bunch of Scott/ German spirit folk came out of nowhere and drop out of the trees, ( ok, so this is what insanity looks and feels like.) They were the 13 years olds I played with for two years during summer vacation time. Everytime I went back to school during fall the urban centers and having to deal with living my drama queen mom and her azz hole second husband was throwing my energy out of alignment. My .. old .. friends though my .. Shinto .. ritual to be, amusing. In closing, .. I burnt myself out as a teenager, barely did any magic in my 20's, rarely had anyone to work with in my early 30's. But did by G*D's grace met some people I could do group work with at my only factory job. Mexican, African, Hindu, Muslin, and Southern African American, all of them were mostly raised by their grand mothers, with gardens in their yards and trees to play in, all green witch fairy magic. Haven't practice for the pass 13 years, don't need the drama. I take care of my dad in a wheel chair, and he don't like strange stuff going on around the house. Ironic enough .. HE .. was the one that open up my .. awareness .. when I was nine years old. And my current city location is not like by my old friends. Sadly my dad might not make it another five or ten years, .. so .. by the time in my late 50's or early 60's I get a new place in the country side to build something .. lasting. But if you want or are able to build up a circle/ garden shrine to drawn Shinto/ Japanese land spirits to another continent, you are more than welcome to do so. As a teenage and also in my early 20's I tried to build a small Japanese style garden, my grandma had it tore out due to the crazy fairy that moved into it.

The Eleusinian Mysteries are so incredible when you consider the idea of the psychedelic introduced in spirituality as a means to empower spirituality in an organized setting, knowing fully well that human beings must've experimented with substances for many thousands of years prior to ancient Greece except in a likely greatly less ritualized and ceremonial manner. The Eleusinian is a hallmark, cornerstone and a pillar in so many ways.

Any psychotropic effects would had simply wore off by then. b) Kykeon was a pretty standard recipe. In no time or place in ancient Greece did it include anything even remotely connected to psychotropics. c) Whatever went on during the main Dromena day, was experienced the same by all. I think it's important to note that Gardner did not take from free Mason's Rituals as much as the hermetic order of the Golden Dawn. Although the golden dawn is influenced by many aspects of free Mason ritual, it amongst many other things, was particularly opposed to the patricharcy in free masonry, and accepted women equally to men. They also were very concerned with the non-gendered nature of God, which makes Gardners actions even more shameful that he applied such hetronormative aspects to Rituals which did not originally contain that quality.

That is a good point that i'm glad you shared. I think Arith's point was simply that taking elements from freemasonry makes Wicca baseless, as freemasonry is based on 'orientalism' - presumptions about Egyptian culture that were more European fantasy than historical, things such as the builders or architects, memory fails me, being killed to protect the secret of how the pyramids were built. As a side note, on the prerequisite of belief in God yet members who divulge the secrets will be killed is a self-contradiction & is contrary to the concept in wicca that says what we do comes back to us three-fold. Feedback welcome. Be well.

I submit that the Eleusinian Mysteries were practiced with a vow of silence … not a vow of secrecy. The vow of silence was practiced to preserve the sacred … not keep the sacred from the masses because in fact these initiates were also teachers to the people.
@freebird9646
@freebird9646 3 жыл бұрын
The institution of the Mysteries is the most interesting phenomenon in the study of religion. The idea of antiquity was that there was something to be known in religion, secrets or mysteries into which it was possible to be initiated; that there was a gradual process of unfolding in things religious; in fact, that there was a science of the soul, a knowledge of things unseen. G.R.S. Mead, Fragments of a Faith Forgotten”.
@freebird9646
@freebird9646 3 жыл бұрын
The meaning of the Mysteries is not entirely clear, for initiates took vows of silence about what they experienced. It is generally assumed, however, that participants in the sacred rites realized a profound soul change, interior cleansing, and rebirth. "Mysteries were initiation rituals of a voluntary, personal, and secret character that aimed at a change of mind through experience of the sacred."'" Participants felt renewed and recharged, but not "saved," because salvation in the Judea-Christian sense was incompatible with Pagan religious experience. If to be saved means to be forgiven one's sins by God, to be relieved of the lonely, unjust and insupportable burden of suffering by the intervention of superhuman power, to be released from the travail of this world, and to attain (or at least be guaranteed) immortality in a world beyond this one, then Pagans were definitely not into salvation. "Silence surrounded all the 'Mysteries,' a word that derives from the Greek verb myo-, meaning 'to shut the eyes,' or 'to keep one's mouth shut,' especially 'in fear of danger' or, by extension, 'in the face of awe. Considering the vow of secrecy, it might be thought that no testimony about the Mysteries was allowed, but this is not exactly the case. Initiates vowed not to divulge the most intimate aspect of the rites. They could not say what they encountered in the moment of ultimate revelation, but they could allude to it, and they could, and did, describe in a general way the effects of initiation. InThe Golden Ass the Latin writer Apulieus (fl. ca. 150 c.r.) gives what is probably an authentic and reliable account of initiation into the Mysteries of Isis. At the key moment of revelation a sublime voice addresses him: I am Nature, the universal Mother, mistress of all the elements, primordial child of time, sovereign of all things spiritual, queen of the dead, queen also of the immortals, the single manifestation of all the gods and goddesses that are known to you on earth. Apulieus's testimony is consistent with ancient reports that initiation was an encounter with living Nature, the Magna Mater. In modern terms, Gaia. An encounter marked by the epiphany of a mysterious light. Initiatory revelation was part clairaudient and part clairvoyant, for the supreme revelation of Divinity came through tangible sensations.

geo geo Yes….The sacred narrative of the Mysteries explains the cosmic origins of life and human purpose on earth, in a way not to be found elsewhere. Disclosure of the Organic Light Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach (c. 1220 CE) is the story of a warrior's mystic quest to find the Holy Grail. He attains that goal by direct encounter with the Organic Light, the living luminosity of the earth. The Grail quest is not some never-ending journey to fathom the nature of one's self, as many pretenders have claimed. Attainment of the Grail is the same for everyone: that encounter is universal and invariable for the human species. The explicit disclosure of how the Light behaves, its texture, its optical and acoustic properties, the chambered depths, its theriomorphic action, the nose drop, and other details were never before disclosed to the public before this account was written. In the Mysteries, initiates observed a vow of silence regarding these vivid properties of the planetary luminosity, due to their well-founded opinion that disclosing the properties of the Light previous to direct encounter with it would queer or bias the human capacity for that encounter.

@@freebird9646I agree with most of what you wrote, though I don't think judeo Christian salvation is exactly as you say. I think Orphism is the understanding nothing really matters. While there is morality that should be followed, if it is not, nothing really happens. The mysteries were controlled chaos. Within very strict parameters there was total abandon. Mardi gras. Once a year, embrace the fact that nothing matters. No self judgments, no judgements of others. I think that's what all mystery cults were about from Osiris to Dionysus, from the Persians to the Hittites.

@@youknowwho9741 Firstly, Yes I can. Since you cannot prove your claim, or even offer any evidence to support it, then it remains in the realm of the absurd. Aka, it never happened. Another one could claim, e.g, that human sacrifice was held at Eleusis. That is also an absurdity. History and Archaeology have no time trying to disprove a dozen million people out of a gazillion personal obsessions and delusions. Secondly, not knowing the exact ceremonial procedure unfolding at the adyton, doesn't mean we "do not know" anything about the Eleusinian mysteries. We do know their religious context and the social context into which they were held. Plus we have a general knowledge of the actual ceremony from various sources (Plutarch etc) offering sporadic clues. A 'sexual orgy' is never mentioned or implied.

The Dog Star Sirius known as the Rooster would rise with the Sun during the hottest days of summer for 40 days they called Canicula, after 40 days the Dog star rose as the Sun would set, The dog Star Sirius would drop below the horizon for 70 days before returning with the seasonal floods for 295 days 295+70=265\40=9.125 if we had 40 days in a months 9 a year but thats not why it's because of Mercury adding 3 days to the 37 day pole spin of our Sun that is 25 days at it's belly Tilted 7.25 degrees giving it a 19.5 year season 79 years in all which is the cycle of Mars but as I said Mercury is the Cause with it's 88 day year, 8+8=16=7 and and Every 7 Years Mercury make 7 equilateral triangles with 22 retrogrades, 22\7=3.142 closest you can get to Pi, Mercury does this 4 times a year and 4 times around the 88 constellations 88\4=22. 40 days is the retro days of Venus and 77 weeks between each 40 day retro, a week of weeks is behind the Sun (7X7) having 35 weeks on each side 35+35=70, 35 minutes is Dusk and 35 minutes is Dawn so twilight is 70 the Morning Star who is also the Dog star. and every 77 months both Mars and Venus meet in the same zodiac sign and does this 3 times must be that 70 day average retro of Mars that does on average every 707 days and you find it too with our year 365 or 3+6+5=14 which is 7+7 and the Zodiacal Month of 2160 years divided by 4, when we add the "NO" day the leap day we add 77 weeks of them 2160\4=540\7= 77.14 and every 19.5 years is the cycle of Jupiter and Saturn, Jupiter year is 11.86 or 11+86=97=16=7 and Saturn's 29.5 years equals 7 and every 7 years Uranus will move through a zodiac sign and all the main constellations are of 7 Do you really think 9 is more important then 7 with 3 one can make a triangle (777) 60 degrees It is Venus that creates a crescent shaped barge with the Sun it the center each time it moves from morning star to evening star first a week of weeks followed by 8 days each time a corkscrew movement to and from the Sun now She Goat, known also as the Boar and the Plough; plow, and the beard I call the Goatee hanging from the chin of the Pharaoh AND like the Moon Venus is in tide-locked with Earth and we see her "weeping Eye" inside of a pyramid shaped crater called Jeanne located @ like her retro number 40 degrees North Latitude 331 Longitude 3+3+1=7 Maybe I'll show more of the 7 hidden everywhere but this should be enough for now Just a little more, as the Sun would be sitting as Sirius was rising now the Sun will be with the Virgin Virgo who they called a 'Beard of Grain' like that of the hair on the chin grows back and now gauge it by it's shadow like our Moon

not a word about the psychedelic compound of the elusinian mystery tradition :/, the spiritual rebirth - the descent to the underworld, the death and then rebirth as someone new.

Yeah why wasn’t it mentioned? Isn’t mysticism about entering altered states of perception that allow for divine possibilities? Why are psychedelics an illegitimate resource for that? No reason they should be. Everything perceived is within human consciousness.

Your characterization of Gardener as some kind of cult leader is incredibly inaccurate and slanderous, and is symptomatic of a common thread of Wicca hatred in the modern Occult community. Some of your videos are quite good, but other times you miss the mark completely.

Well, I do not hate Wicca, just so you know, in case that has crossed your mind. I think we must adress things for what they are. What I said about Wicca isn't a fancy guess or throwing words into the air and hoping it will be believed. It is a fact that Gardner was also (not just, but also) greatly inspired by the rituals of the Order of the Golden Dawn and Freemasons. Many of the initiation rites and magical rituals within Wicca are indeed very close (sometimes equal) to those of the Order of the Golden Dawn and the Freemasons, especially of the Co-Masons which is a movement in which women also participated alongside men, and this was an approach Gardner wanted to bring into Wicca, and he did. These are all movements following ceremonial rituals to gain self-knowledge and self-empowerment. One of the greatest influences for Gardner was actually Aleister Crowley, another Golden Dawn member. Gerald Gardner transformed the Golden Dawn rituals, turning them into celebrations of Nature and the veneration of a deity who was believed (by himself and his friends) to be an actual being (The Goddess), rather than a powerful methaphor, as pagan gods were usually adressed by occultists and spiritists of the time. Gardner believed that the "true self" exists in relationships with deities, other humans, all living beings and the earth itself, so this relationship with a deity (The Goddess) was crucial within Wicca, because it created a shift from an individualistic and inward-looking idea of the "self" towards a more relational notion, and indeed that's what Paganism is mostly about - creation of relationships. Nevertheless, the patriarchal rituals and ceremonies are there, and no small amount of occultic influences, and these are perhaps the two great reasons why many modern pagans and witches shift away from Wicca these days.
