huge GD fan here. they place people in the crowd that the cameras will focus on. pretty much paid actors. its the shows producers choice, not GD's. its a kick ass song but its not that popular (yet). It has the sound that could end up blowing up though, we shall see!

As someone who works in the entertainment industry, hate to say it, but it’s all staged. This is filmed weeks before NYE. And they tell the audience they have to act abnormally happy. Always smile. And they share the song before showing up and tell them to sing along. It’s all about the image 😢

Yeah this performance in particular had fake written all over it. You could kinda tell, no judgement on any of the people in the crowd but none of them particularly looked like they'd be hardcore Green Day fans who would know all the words to the new stuff, hell even real hardcore Green Day fans don't listen to the new stuff 🤣 I remember during the FOA era, I think it was some NHL show or something, there's footage of them playing "Ready Aim Fire" and then afterwards Billie is like "I'm being told we have to perform that again cause you guys weren't going crazy enough" It's not news about how much of this stuff is set up, but if anything I hope that it gives Green Day a boost for their upcoming album

@mikedavis8008 He's singing live but there's definitely pitch-correction on his mic and some layering in the chorus. Especially the end of the chorus. "Dead man walking" at 0:37 is obvious. Untouched vocals don't sound like that.

@@errix And where's your proof on that? Cuz the instruments are clearly actually been played and plugged in and the vocals are clearly real too. Green Day aren't really a band to use backing tracks hence why they have touring members so they can fill out the sound They're using wireless systems which they've used for years now, hence why they arent dragging guitar cables around and as for amps, they never have the amp heads on stage and have them in racks which they've done for years and while the have cabs there, they'll have their proper cabs backstage so the mic doesn't get loads of bleed from drums etc

@@linusmushroomtips776 Well, it´s not the studio track for sure, however, there is something going on in these performances that is strange and which I can´t quite pinpoint. That´s the thing, I saw them live in 2022 in Vienna and they were on point, vocally and instrumentally Nothing against post production of a live performance, btu that only goes for a traditional approach with EQ and so forth, no pitch correction or added tracks wanted (or needed in the case of Green Day).

@@323tiim when they cut to tre for a drum fill, both times the audio and the video don't match, the first time they show him for the drum fill the audio is 6 snare hits, but his hands are playing 3 on the snare, 1 on the high tom, and 2 on the floor tom. then when they show the fill again the hands match, but after the 6 drum hits there's a cymbal crash, then the audio of the hi-hat being hit when you can see tre on the other side of his kit playing the crash with his right hand
