wonder if they do aquaponics. i mean, the might as well put the fish waste to good use. it takes quite a while for the eggs to be ready for harvest, so in the meantime they could sell some high quality vegetables or other plant-based product.

***** It doesn't actually taste that great. It's one of those weird food products that are high priced but poor tasting. Shark fin (for shark fin soup) is another example.

***** I'd say it tastes like poor quality fish. I'm not saying it's horrible, but I'd pay I higher price for sea bass, lobster, crab, tuna, etc. than I would for caviar. I only eat it at parties and wouldn't personally purchase it because I think it's way overpriced for what you're getting. Everything is about personal tastes, so you should definitely try it. For example, I perfer the taste of Salmon roe (i.e. salmon "caviar"/fish eggs) over the caviar from sturgeons.

they use sturgeon to run steam ships they dragged nets behind and used it as fuel they were so oily they burnt well that's were most of the fish went.

at 2:24 he says they Caspian sea had recorded fish of 4000lb (1814.37kg). is this for real? some cars done even weigh that much. im not trying to be an ass or anything but that is a serious amount of weight for a fish.

It is possible extract the eggs without killing the fish. And, considering that they need to be close to 15 years old before they develop eggs, it is a shame that they don't switch to that methodology.
