Considering that sturgeons can live up to a century, eating these types of ethical caviar will support the repopulation of an endangered species
@only4posting3 жыл бұрын
And what do the critics have to say ? "Although this is indeed a welcome breakthrough for the preservation of sturgeon species, some critics like Geno Evans of Anastasia Gold Caviar in Florida, find the commercially sustainable caviar as “too soft” and said, “It wasn’t caviar.” Of course they would say that. It's like if tomorrow, a mine was discovered, with 100 million tons of gold....or square miles full of diamonds: the industry could no longer say "it is expensive because it is very rare! " They obviously see these extraction methods as a huge threat. Because they kill gigantic fishes, with a ton of eggs... and don't want anyone to be able to re- use the same fish over and over. And if slowly, the industry started doing the same thing, they could no longer keep their crazy prices Why would the taste be so different, like they claim...?

ALDI are selling this KC Caviar as their specialty range this Christmas. Its priced at #17.99 per 10 grams making it #1,799 per kilo. Never had Sturgeon caviar before, so looking forward to trying it. This product is at the high end of the market and is every bit as good as Russian caviar, also, they don't kill their fish to harvest the eggs. Its highly sustainable as well as ethical and a win win situation.

I would never deliberately eat kill Caviar. I was offered caviar when I was in the then USSR nearly 40 years ago. It's one of those things, you either lover or hate like Olives or Marmite, I personally found it totally revolting. I think the best idea so far is restocking their wild breeding grounds, but it is a catch 22 situation, It has to become so cheap, illegally fishing the creatures becomes obsolete.
