I fly fish a lot and carry a walking stick. Normally a cheap one, but I can’t tell you how many times a stick saved me from falling or going into a deep pool of water. You are so correct when you say you can’t see deep or sometimes. I also take a stick with me when I go out in my four-wheel-drive, so when I hit a puddle or a mud spot, I can dip the stick in to see how deep. That too has saved me from getting stuck. One of my sticks is made out of an old bamboo fishing rod. That was my grandfather‘s, using the hand in and putting a rubber stopper on the other end. To me, it’s the most beautiful walking stick I have. I also have one from Cuba when I lived there. A stick can be an invaluable tool. Thanks for a great video.

I just made me walking hiking stick. Green wood maple found growing middle my lilac bush. About four year five year. Seen didn't do nothing about but check pretty straight. Don't tree middle bush harvested it for stick. Going try dry little though season then before completely dry going fire harden it. Or try. Keep hiking stick.
