I think it’s supposed to be implied that the protagonist is either possessed or is not human in some fashion. The reactions of the staff members makes you wonder what they see. The god telling you they “realise who they’re talking to” as if you are some kind of special being. I think the most obvious sign that you are possessed, however, is the font choice throughout. Every character has their own font. The staff. The god. And you. Until the very end, when your character wonders where they are. The font has changed. You have changed. Something that was inside you is no longer there. Who or what took control of you is a mystery. As for motivation for whatever being controlled the protagonist, I like to think it was a ritual of sorts. To get to the temple, kill the god. 13 is always a significant number when it comes to rituals in religious text etc. Could be that by playing the game of golf, hitting the thirteenth hole, you somehow fulfilled some requirement for summoning forth this god, ripe for the killing. Who know, I’m just spitballing on that one. Cool game though, awesome video Librarian!

Also the fact that the beginning question you get is “Choose a Body” and not “Choose a Skin tone”
@mfknbumblebee9 ай бұрын
@@PhoenixFox5577 omg yes!
@PhoenixFox55779 ай бұрын
Basically the story is that you play as a unknown entity who is trying to stop this other entity that wants to destroy the world. At the beginning instead of saying Choose a skin tone or something normal it says Choose a Body and the main character doesn’t remember why they are at the golf course after they defeat the thing at the end plus the fact that all NPCs are weirded out by your character’s behavior.
@kajamaja71488 ай бұрын
Ooh. That might be why it said "Now i know who i'am talking to". It recognized it. That's such a cool story idea! How does the advertisment at the end fit into this thought? It made it seem like the main character had a nightmare about the add mixed with golf.
@PhoenixFox55778 ай бұрын
@@kajamaja7148 I think it's just showing that the entity that you fight still isn't dead and is still out there and probably still has control over the company or it's just our main character seeing the ad before he ever got possessed.

Did anyone else notice at 1:00:30 where the entity directly tells the player that they "cannot keep that world" and "I will take your lunch from you?" Somehow, someway, the creators have made a _Lovecraftian golf simulator_ with enemies and a *_boss fight_*. Truly a sentence that I never thought would be uttered. (Also, as @derekbum pointed out, the protagonist is not fully in control - thus truly rounding out the horror).

Maybe the player character is using golf as a way to conduct some sort of ritual to stop whatever that's going on. I think... and don't quote me on that, I just vaguely recall... in some folklore, in order to dispel the curse over haunted fields, one must go there and perform manual labor as normal, but at night, and the normalcy shall return.

I played miniature golf a couple of times as a kid and shared George Carlin’s opinion of golf before I ever heard of him (I’m ooooold). Miniature golf for me was creepy in its own way with the slightly off dreamlike quality of the obstacles. Having to kill the boss in what felt like the worst kind of nightmare miniature golf was really horrifying.

My theory is that your character is the God of Golf and that the landscaping company was a cult that was trespassing on one of your holy grounds (maybe their deity is like, the God of Landscaping or something) so you stepped in to stop them.
