I'm in sales and I agree with everything he has to say. Be clean, have some energy, make a connection and be a friend not a salesperson. People buy from people they know and like. My customers are busy people so I always make a point to get them what they need and get out of their way. Read the situation and know when a person busy. Ask questions and guide the conversation to relevant content. It's a conversation not a presentation, one of the first things I learned in sales.

This is gold. I'm a 22 year old electrician, no experience on sales whatsoever. My electric company started sending me out for service calls now on my own and when I'm meeting customers I do it, go greet them, ask them about their needs of service and offer my solutions. I feel at the end of the job people tend to feel more in trust with me after they see my work and I try to do a walkthrough on what was done putting in simple terms for customers easy to understand. However I feel I have a lot of room to improve when it comes to greeting customers, this is my second language and still working on it but I've noticed people are more open to work with you if you have a good vocabulary even if your pronunciation isn't top. What's the best way to overcome this? Making simple scripts for different situations? watch more companies interactions with customers? Better my vocabulary? I've started working on my self on that however I feel not much progress it's made. Any advice is very much welcomed and appreciated.

We've all been there at one time or another. But, This guy does not come across as genuine whatsoever. And as far as success goes, success is what you define as success in this life, I guess. The only ultimate success I know is not how many things I have or how much money I have but, is only determined by my identity in Christ. The only True and living God. Me and you are both going to be dead in about 40 to 60 years and all that will matter is our standing before a Holy and just God. Andy has a following with 10s of thousands of people who saw value in his content. He’s clearly successful for a reason because his approach works. I really don’t know a lot about being a salesman and as accurate as this advice seems I will say that every time I’ve been greeted by or interacted with a salesman like this I am instantly turned off. Like I said his advice does seem to be good for the majority of people, but I find these kind of salesman to be instantly disingenuous and overwhelming. My point is this approach seems really good, but I think it’s important to be able to read people and try and watch how they respond as your interaction progresses.

The trick is to modify it. I, one hundred percent, agree with you! I was in sales the better part of my life! If one is properly trained as a salesman, the following is gold. He uses an attack! Modify it! Look, we as salesman provide a solution for our customers needs. If you do that well, you will certainly close. Cars are a different animal altogether. Generally, if mentally you put the money aside, and LISTEN to your customers NEEDS, you will sell! Don't get me wrong, he is amazing! Period! I do not, nor would I ever come at a client in this way! It's 2024, and people see through the bullshit! Be genuine, concerned, and commit to quality. Be real, and apply what you need from Andy. Not everyone goes a thousand miles an hour. I have a friend who sells Peterbuilt trucks. These are well north of 200k. Soft spoken, cares, and puts the relationship above all else! I sold real estate. I don't want to sell the wrong house to people. If I sell the right house the first time, I will likely do the second, third, and fourth. Put people first, and the money will come. 🙂

I really like your videos. I’ve been a real estate agent for 28 years, and I’m starting at a Chevrolet/Cadillac dealership in the sales department on Monday. Wish me luck. I really do enjoy your videos.

Smiles and positivity, I get that. But someone walks up to me fast-talking, ignoring my mood, my pace of speech, putting 12 talking points into the first 10 seconds of conversation, I'm out. I'll have every "I'm being sold to and they're trying to dull my ability to think for myself so that I will do what they want" trigger warning going off all over my body. 90% great advice, but this huge aspect of it is missing

I will 2nd all of this. It's the over-the-top positive, fast talking, used car salesman type attitude that makes me roll my eyes.

Awesome Video, A lot of energy. Andy you are very motivational and this video definitely hit points to be a Boss on the greet. I have been in car sales for 4 years and all of my trainers never trained me that way. I am going to study this video and become a Boss on the Greet.

So as a customer I'm getting manipulated? Nice. Makes me feel good. I now know that these interactions are definitely genuine. I'm much more likely to give salespeople my money now. Thanks, Andy!😍
@PeterGould-iz5yp Жыл бұрын
Haha I know what you mean, and it’s important to be weary of salesman in general.The word persuasion comes to mind rather than manipulate. You’re there providing a service to inform and educate the customer as politely and genuinely on what they ultimately think they want and maybe even provide an alternative option they may have not considered. It’s a matter of perspective.

What’s painful is as a customer the salesman think we can’t see what they’re doing is disingenuous. There’s a reason that referring to someone as a “car salesman type” is universally negative.
@lildookie8783 Жыл бұрын
@@gaguy81 Exactly. It's so nauseating to think that you get up everyday and put on this phoney persona where everything you do, including what you say and how you act, has been rehearsed over and over again.

This guy couldn’t sell anything, and I don’t care how much hate I get for saying this. When it comes to building rapport, doing so in the first 10 seconds or so is crucial. Your first impression has to be genuine and real. Don’t get me wrong, this guy does offer good advice. However, he comes off as intense and fake, which many salespeople overlook. Establishing a genuine connection with someone is actually going to help you with sales, not just pretending or discovering what they like and then acting as if you like it too. You have to open yourself up and try to relate to them. That’s what makes a veteran sound personal. By building a genuine connection, you’re not just another phony making a persuasive sale.

I would compliment a customers decor or collectible artsy stuff in their home and they’d open up like a book! Especially collectors items people love talking about their stuff I had this guy give me a whole house tour. As a stranger in one’s home these little things make people comfortable and trust you.
