Calle del Pueblita is one of the most beautiful streets, indeed. The church is affectionately and simply called, The Parroquia. Gringos sit on the sunniest bench looking directly at the Parroquia. And, the market is called, The Mercado.

Great video on San Miguel. Another “food” benefit that San Miguel offers is artesian restaurants. They are not inexpensive by Mexican standards, but for about $75 for two you can have truly amazing food and incredible service all presented in the most beautiful way. In the US as a comparison, the same dinner would be at least twice the price.

There are quite a few renaissance churches with hispanic gothic and romanesque features in Mexico. Yuriria convent, cathedral of Cuernavaca, ex-convent of San Nicolas de Tolentino in Actopan, ex-convent of Cuauhtinchan, ex-convent of Atlatlahucan, ex-convent of Cuilapan, ex-convent of Metztitlan, ex-convent of Tecpatan, etc. Best one is the ex-convent in Yecapixtla.
